hi tom
i fly a few planes and have just about mastered helicopters,
http://www.alshobbies.com/
is about the cheapest for online stuff
if you really want to get into the hobby just ask away i will advise you the best i can
jeff.
www.rcuniverse.com has lots of info. Helis are fun, a good challenge!
www.heliproz.com and www.helicopter-world.com to buy stuff!

Tom are you new to flying? If so a helicopter might be a but tough to start off.
A T-Hawk is an ideal plane to start with and will take a few crash landings before needing a repair!
Take a look HERE I had one myself and for around £100 RTF its excellent.
arent planes and halicopters a completely diferent kettle of fish
Al's Hobbies are based in North London, prices are ok
Slough Models has a lot more and advertise in most of the mags.
If you are just starting - get a copy of FMS simulator - it is free and can be downloaded.
Look for the option in the FMS forum for interfaces - check out the sound card joystick interface - very easy to make £3.00
Radio - I have an FF9 Futaba - but you do not have to go down that road if you are just starting out.
You could get a FF6 - six channel of ebay with servos for about £100
A good starter plane
Internal Combustion
JR or JP ? Prankster - this is an EPP plane - very easy to repair.
Electric
Pico Jet
Twin Star
Have Fun.

More UNCLEX than last week but less next :woot:
hi m8
i do a bit of both helicopters and planes
here is one of the cheapest for helicopters
http://www.cyberheli.com
and this exelent forum for helicopters
http://www.runryder.com/
I have been flying planes for the past 15 years.
There is a good forum at:
http://www.rcmodelflyers.co.uk/4um/index.php?board=1
Or try
http://www.bmfa.org/links/Model_Clubs_UK/index.html
For a club in your area.
Drop in on the clubs. They are usually friendly and will give as much advice as you want. You can have a look at what is being flown as well.
It's usually easier to learn to fly through a club as an instructor will take control if you lose control of the model. It gets expensive learning to land otherwise.
If it's described as foolproof, you can bet they are about to breed a better fool.
Yeah i live in slough and can say that Slough RC is really good
I use them for petrol cars but can say that for planes and helis they are good and have loads in stock in radio gear, engines etc
Worth a look or a call
Cheers
Rich
