X-box Sold With Two Games Chippin Question

I heard a at bowlers yesturday that the new X-Box sold with two games can't be chipped

Is this correct ????

it cant be chipped at the moment but when executer 2 comes out soon then you will be able to chip it

It's best to check as some people have reported getting a 1.0 xbox with the new sega pack.

yeah some people have had old versions and some have had the new versions, i beleive the new ones have smaller cardboard boxes and the console itself is more shiny.

i have just found this on xbox scene, few more ways how to check if its a v1 or a v1.1 without actually opening the console

The manufacturing date (MFG. DATE) is in international format : year-month-day
If the manufacturing date is prior August 2002 : you have a v1.0
If the manufacturing date is August 2002 or later : it can be a v1.0 OR v1.1 ... try another test.

2/ Gamefreax serial check

This check has been found by the guys at gamefreax.de
Is is not sure if this test works all the time , nor if it works worldwide.
xbox serial (check sticker on back of your xbox) : xxx-xxxxxxx-12345
The important part is the last 5 digits
21xx3 = v1.0
23xx5 = v1.1

3/ Check your Xbox bios/kernel version.

Goto the "settings" option in the XBOX menu and select "Sytem Info". You will see lots of legal text.
At the end of the txt you will see something like
K: 1.00.xxxx.01
D: 1.00.xxxx.01
If you don't see this you still have one of the first xbox versions (USA only) , so it's a v1.0
If the xxxx = 4034 or 4036 or 4627 you have a v1.0
If the xxxx = 4817 you have a v1.1

The reason why there might be old v1 consoles in the Sega Xmas pack is because retailers with old stock have been sent upgrade packs from distribution.

I thought the Matrix/Xodus wireless chip worked with the correct bios on the Xbox 1.1 ?

yes but only bios that works so far is xecutor ne wone.. which wont fit on the xodus chip

We have seen xbox sega packs with both v1.0 and v1.1
If you can find an xbox with a MFG prior August 2002 it should be a v1.0 , if August or later ... u'll have to open your xbox or check bios version to be sure.

If youre in the uk, argos sell both an original xbox v 1.0 without the sega pack for 158 quid. Or you can buy the v1.1 aka v2 with the sega pack for 159 quid. 'sup to you.

I aint gonna chip mine till after xmas. want to see how xbox live copes with mods.

I got this offer today in Germany and after reading

If the xxxx = 4034 or 4036 or 4627 you have a v1.0

I had a look and noticed mine was 4034 so it should be a V1.0 . Is this definate then ?

Im not at this moment in time looking to get the box chipped but it would be nice to know 100% thats its compatible.

yep should be a v1.0 m8, i got that off xbox scene, dont suppose you wanna take it apart to find out.

anyway if you ever do want to get it chipped you can open it up then and will know wot mod to get, but it does sound like its deffo a v 1.0
