As mobs across Europe are incited to demonstrate against Israel for protecting itself against Turkish terrorist aggression, here is a video clip of Gaza-based Yemeni professor Abd al Fatah Nu’man who spells out what that convoy was really all about:
‘This scent is the message of the Islamic message worldwide: Islam is coming, and Gaza is the spearhead that sets the nation in motion...The heroes were selected by Allah to carry out their mission: the mission of awakening the nation...
These are people who wish to be martyred for the sake of Allah; as much as they want to reach Gaza, the other way is more desirable to them.
Martyrdom, in case anyone still doesn’t get it, means in this case killing Jews in the cause of the Islamic jihad. That was the real aim of this flotilla.
So when you read the comments of the British Tory Foreign Secretary William Hague who is moved to
    deplore the loss of life
    and calls upon Israel to
allow unfettered access for aid to Gaza
which would allow unfettered access for weapons against Israel – and while Hague makes no such call upon Egypt whose border with Gaza, unlike that of Israel which is letting into Gaza thousands of tons of aid per week, remains totally shut -- remember the words of professor Abd al Fatah Nu’man; and as mobs on the streets in London and elsewhere show their solidarity with his murderous agenda, decide whether he is most likely to win the battle for the free world or Hague is most likely to lose it.

Update: Very glad to see that the good folk at Conservative Home have grasped that Hague's earlier statement puts the Conservatives on the wrong side of the battle for civilisation. But since not only does Hague have form on such a 'disproportionate' attitude to Israel but also the Tories are now in coaltion with the Israel-bashing LibDems, who would blame Israel even if jihadis were to sail a flotilla up the Thames and take the entire LibDem leadership hostage, I would not hold my breath for Hague to start upholding truth and justice in the Middle East.

    ABSOLUTE SHIT !!!!!!!!!!!

    THE WRITER OF THE ARTICLE

Phillips was born into a Jewish family. Her father was a dress salesman and her mother ran a children's clothes shop. Both parents were committed Labour voters.[1] She was educated at Putney High School, a girls' independent school in Putney, London, and later read English at St Anne's College, Oxford.
She trained as a journalist on the Evening Echo, a local newspaper in Hemel Hempstead,[1] as her probationary period in the provinces, then compulsory for the profession. After winning the Young Journalist of the Year award in 1976,[1] she spent a short period at the New Society magazine, before joining The Guardian newspaper in 1977 and soon became its social services correspondent and social policy leader writer. Gaining initial attention for articles on the treatment of asylum seekers and immigrants, she broke a story that some female immigrants were being submitted to virginity tests at Heathrow Airport. The policy was quickly changed.[1]
When appointed as the paper's news editor, Phillips fainted on her first day[2] in 1984,[1] she started writing her own opinion column in 1987. As a writer for The Guardian in 1982 she defended the Labour Party at the time of the split with the Social Democratic Party.
Leaving The Guardian, her relationship with the newspaper's readers had become fraught "like a really horrific family argument,".[1] Phillips first took her opinion column to the Guardian's sister-paper The Observer in 1993, and then to the Sunday Times in 1998,[2] before writing regularly for the Daily Mail in 2001. She occasionally writes for the Jewish Chronicle and other periodicals. Since 2003, she has written a blog, now hosted by The Spectator.
Phillips was awarded the Orwell Prize for Journalism in 1996. In 2003, she won the award for "Most Islamophobic Media Personality of the Year"[3] from the Islamic Human Rights Commission. In 2009, she was awarded the Sappho Prize (an award given to a 'journalist who combines excellence in his/her work with courage and a refusal to compromise') by the Danish Free Press Society.
She is married to Joshua Rozenberg, former legal affairs correspondent for the BBC, now Legal Editor of the Daily Telegraph.[4] They have two children.[4]
    [edit] Political views

The BBC has said that Phillips "is regarded as one of the [U.K.] media's leading right-wing voices" and a "controversial" columnist,[5] although she defines herself as a progressive and a defender of liberal democracy.[6] She began her career on the liberal left[4] with the Guardian (which she has since described as "an evil newspaper"[7]), and her gradual drift to the right of the political spectrum has been mirrored by her journalistic career: she now writes for the Daily Mail. She has used her Daily Mail columns and her blog to discuss, amongst other issues, progressive teaching methods,[8] science,[9] Islam,[10] anti-semitism, and Israeli policy;[11] and to support strict anti-drug policies.[12]

AND SOME MORE WORDS FROM HER

    On Britain and Islam

She says that Britain is "sleepwalking towards cultural suicide" and "has capitulated to Islamic terror."[16] She added: "Britain at this moment isn’t really sane. It is gripped by a kind of collective derangement... This is no longer England, however. It is Lemmingland."[17] This is part of a deeper "moral sickness of the West", causing it to destroy itself and permit the rise of Islamism.[18] She has written in support of Geert Wilders, who she says is being criminalised in Britain "for telling the truth".[19]

Who said anything about impartial ?

The Turkish people for the most part are Muslim , are their view points also not valid or allowed to be considered ?

What you are suggesting is people are not allowed to express views if they belong to a particular religion .

That is just plain stupid as you are fully aware.

Everyone has a bias or is swayed to form an opinion somehow so be realistic.

Instead of ranting and shouting why don't you address the points and challenge them with views of your own.

Yesterday you were saying you were on the people's side, all peoples, you seem to be a far cry from that today.

West to blame for Gaza aid raid

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the United States, Britain and France must be held accountable for an Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound aid convoy.

The Leader said the attack on the international convoy was an act of lunacy, adding that the attack brings Israel closer to its end.

"Zionism is a new and more aggressive face of fascism which is this time supported by governments claiming to be advocates of freedom and human rights with the US above all," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

"What does the three-year blockade of food and medicine imposed on 1.5 million of Palestinians mean? How are massacre, torture and imprisonment of young Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank understandable?"

The Leader added that the symbolic act of sending aid convoys to the impoverished strip should be repeated in various forms and means over and over again.

Israeli forces attacked on Monday morning the international aid convoy Freedom Flotilla en route to the besieged Gaza Strip, killing at least 20 people and leaving more than 50 injured.

The international Flotilla was carrying more than 10, 000 tons of relief supplies, including food and construction material, for the besieged people of Gaza.

More ships to head for Gaza

    June 1, 2010
    JERUSALEM (JTA) --

Two more ships that are part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla are still planning to sail for the Gaza coast.

An Irish ship named Rachel Corrie, for the Gaza activist killed in 2003 by an Israeli bulldozer, and an American ship will likely arrive in international waters outside of Gaza next week, according to reports. The ships are docked now in ports but intend to continue on their journey, despite the death of nine activists Monday morning during violence when Israeli Navy commandos boarded six of the flotilla's ships, Greta Berlin, one of the heads of the Free Gaza movement, told Ynet Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 16 of the 679 flotilla activists who were detained by Israel refuse to identify themselves, hampering the deportation process. Most of the rest of the detainees are expected to be deported by the end of the week, according to Ynet.
More than 40 of the activists left Israel on Tuesday. It is not known when the 36 injured activists will be ready to be deported.

Witnesses cast doubt on Israel's convoy raid account

Israeli army footage showing the violence on board the flotilla - the captions and circled points on this video were inserted by the Israeli army

Eyewitness accounts from ships raided by Israeli commandos have cast doubt on Israel's version of events that led to the deaths of at least 10 people.
German pro-Palestinian activist Norman Paech said he had only seen wooden sticks being brandished as troops abseiled on to the deck of the ship.
Israel says its soldiers were attacked with "knives, clubs and other weapons" and opened fire in self defence.
The raid led to widespread condemnation and the UN has called for an inquiry.
    LEGALITY OF CONVOY RAID

    • The UN Charter on the Law of the Sea says only if a vessel is suspected to be transporting weapons, or weapons of mass destruction, can it be boarded in international waters. Otherwise the permission of the ship's flag carrying nation must be sought.
    • The charter allows for naval blockades, but the effect of the blockade on civilians must be proportionate to the effect on the military element for the blockade to be legally enforceable.
    • A ship trying to breach a blockade can be boarded and force may be used to stop it as long as it is "necessary and proportionate".
    • The Israeli Defense Forces say soldiers acted in self-defence.
    • An investigation, either by the UN or by the ship's flag-carrier Turkey, is required to find if the use of force was proportionate to a claim of self defence.

The six ships, carrying aid and campaigners, had sailed from Cyprus in a bid to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip.
"This was not an act of self-defence," said Mr Paech, a politician, as he arrived back in Berlin wrapped in a blue blanket.
"Personally I saw two and a half wooden batons that were used... There was really nothing else. We never saw any knives.
"This was an attack in international waters on a peaceful mission... This was a clear act of piracy," he added.
Fellow German activist Inge Hoeger said they had been on the ships "for peaceful purposes".
"We wanted to transport aid to Gaza," she said. "No-one had a weapon."
She added: "We were aware that this would not be a simple cruise across the sea to deliver the goods to Gaza. But we did not count on this kind of brutality."
Activist Bayram Kalyon, arriving back in Istanbul, had been a passenger on the Turkish passenger ship Mavi Marmara where most, if not all, of the deaths occurred.
"The captain... told us 'They are firing randomly, they are breaking the windows and entering inside. So you should get out of here as soon as possible'. That was our last conversation with him."
Diplomatic sources in Ankara have said at least four of those killed were Turkish. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the assault was a "bloody massacre" and must be punished. He said Israel should not test Turkey's patience.
UN criticism Further criticism of Israel came from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday.
In an interview with the AFP news agency he said Israel's blockade of Gaza was responsible for the deadly raid.
"Had Israelis heeded to my call and to the call of the international community by lifting the blockade of Gaza, this tragic incident would not have happened," he said.
Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen called on Israel to release people and boats it had seized.
He spoke after an emergency meeting of Nato ambassadors in Brussels called by Turkey.

Here at Beersheva prison in the Negev Desert, in the sweltering heat, a procession of foreign diplomats and lawyers has been trying to gain access to the prisoners.
Most have been let in and so has a party from the International Red Cross. Those who have come out have not said much more than that they have been able to see their prisoners.
Behind the blue and white 8m-high concrete walls, more than 600 people are being held.
For how long and to what purpose is not yet clear. Perspiring journalists can be seen scanning the Israeli newspapers, the headlines reading "Botched raid on Free Gaza Flotilla" and "Flotilla Fiasco".

Renewed violence broke out in Gaza on Tuesday, with five Palestinians reportedly killed by Israeli fire.
Two Palestinian gunmen were shot dead after crossing the border in the south of the territory, a military spokesman said.
Three more people died in an Israeli strike in the north of Gaza, according to Gaza's emergency services. Israel said it carried out an air strike after two rockets were fired from Gaza.
Following the Israeli sea-born raid, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak ordered the border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip to be opened.
The Rafah crossing has been closed since 2007, although special medical cases are occasionally allowed through.
The Egyptian state news agency said the latest opening was to allow humanitarian aid through. It is not clear how long it will be kept open.
The UN Security Council issued a statement after deliberating through the night.
It said an investigation should be "prompt, impartial, credible and transparent". It also condemned the "acts" which led to the deaths.

Barbara Plett, the BBC's UN correspondent in New York, said the statement was the result of a compromise between Turkey and the US, Israel's closest ally.
In its defence, Israel released footage showing soldiers landing on the Turkish ship and being apparently attacked.
Captain Aria Shaliker of the Israel Defense Forces, who was part of Monday's operation, says the commandos began the raids armed with paint ball guns.
"I was, myself, on one of the boats, the Israeli boats, approaching the flotilla," he told the BBC's World Today programme.
"It is true that the Israeli commander unit... came on board with paint ball weapons... in order to disperse [people] if there was violence. They were ready for a violent... demonstration on board the flotilla, especially on the big boat, the Marmara.
"No-one really expected that there would be such a violent outcome of what happened.

Of the 679 activists brought to the Israeli port of Ashdod, only 50 agreed to be voluntarily deported and more than 30 are being treated in hospital for their injuries, reports the BBC's Wyre Davies in Jerusalem.
That means that almost 600 people, from several countries, are still being held in detention centres across Israel and being questioned by the authorities.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that four Turkish citizens are among those that were killed in Monday's Israeli raid on the Gaza-bound aid ship the Mavi Marmara.

Nine aboard the ship, which was part of a larger aid flotilla sent to break Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip, were reportedly killed when Israeli soldiers boarded the ship early Monday.

Islamic Jihad says fighters shot down after firing Kassam rocket.

An Islamic militant group in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday said three of its members had been killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza.

The Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad group said its fighters were killed shortly after firing two rockets into southern Israel. Israeli authorities said the rockets landed in open areas and caused no injuries.

The IDF confirmed it had carried out an airstrike Tuesday, and Gaza's chief medical examiner said there were three deaths.

Tensions have been high since Israeli naval commandos boarded a flotilla carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists to Gaza on Monday, causing a violent clash. Nine activists were said to have been killed in the incident, and several IDF commandos were wounded.

Earlier on Tuesday, two would-be Palestinian terrorists were killed on the Gaza border as the IDF foiled an infiltration attempt. No casualties were reported among the troops.

"Two Palestinian terrorists were identified infiltrating into Israel from the southern Gaza Strip earlier this morning. The soldiers on the scene exchanged fire with the terrorists, killing them both," the IDF Spokesperson said of the event in a statement released later in the day.

Two AK-47 rifles, ten magazines and five grenades were found on the infiltrators' bodies.

Gaza aid flotilla: Israeli sabotage suspected

Israel's military may have sabotaged two boats carrying Free Gaza activists after both malfuntioned at the same time in the same way prior to the raid

Israel's raid on the Free Gaza flotilla has sparked protests around the world. Two passenger boats may also have been sabotaged prior to the raid Photograph: Yossi Zamir/EPA

Two passenger boats sailing to Gaza as part of the aid flotilla attacked by Israel malfunctioned at the same time and in the same way earlier in their voyage, prompting suspicions they may have been sabotaged.
Challenger I and Challenger II, carrying 36 activists from the Free Gaza campaign, were forced into port in Cyprus on Friday evening when both their steering systems broke down on the journey from Heraklion in Crete, a campaign spokeswoman said.
The problems emerged as Israel's military establishment gave strong indications that clandestine attempts were made to sabotage some of the ships ahead of yesterday's bloody confrontation, in which at least nine pro-Palestinian activists were killed.
Challenger II started taking on water after the bilge pump suddenly stopped working and an inspection yesterday of Challenger II, which was forced to withdraw from the flotilla, revealed "very suspicious" faults, according to a spokeswoman for Free Gaza, Greta Berlin.
Both boats were forced to radio distress signals to Cypriot ports and Berlin said the captain of Challenger I, Denis Healey, was "frightened that he was not going to be able to get the boat in". Once in port in northern Cyprus, he had to repair hydraulic lines on the boat. Challenger II had to pull alongside the main Turkish ship, the Mavi Marmara, on the high seas 70 miles off the coast of Cyprus, to transfer its passengers before it limped into port.
Yesterday Matan Vilnai, the deputy minister of defence, was asked by an Israel Radio interviewer today whether there had not been a smarter alternative to direct assault. He answered that "all possibilities had been considered," adding: "The fact is that there were less than the 10 ships that were due to participate in the flotilla."
An unnamed Israeli Defence Force source who briefed the Knesset's foreign affairs and defence committee on the widely criticised interception spoke of "grey operations" being mounted against the flotilla. No further detail was reported, probably because of the military censorship rules that Israeli media are legally required to follow.
The officer also said that military planners had considered trying to stop the MV Marmara rather than board it but had decided against it because the Turkish ship was too fast.
Both Free Gaza boats had left Heraklion in Crete last Thursday and had been sailing for around 30 hours when the malfunctions happened, the Free Gaza group said.
"We had two very fine captains and they both had steering problems but the bilge pump of the Challenger II began not to pump out water," said Berlin. "That boat was close enough to the Turkish ship to offload its passengers. It did that and started to head back towards Cyprus. The captain radioed a distress signal and said he had to come in. That boat went into Limassol in the early evening."
Meanwhile, Healey, the British captain of Challenger I was having the same problems on his way to Cyprus.
"He had 17 passengeres on board as well," said Berlin. "His steering got worse and worse. Dennis is very calm, but he was frightened that he was not going to be able to get the boat in. He radioed to the Cypriots and said he needed to bring the boat in. He told them he was a motor yacht, carrying passengers on their way to Gaza and he was told he couldn't come in. So he went to Famagusta in northern Cyprus instead where he got off and the passengers stayed on board. He repaired the boat himself through the night and into Saturday morning. He fixed the hydraulic lines."
Challenger II was lifted out of the water at Limassol for inspection.
"The inspector said it looked very suspicious and we are having it inspected again by another person today," said Berlin. "It was very odd that this happened at the same time [on each ship] and in almost the same circumstances."
There is at least once known precedent for naval sabotage by the Israelis. Flotilla 13, the elite naval commando unit that carried out Monday's raid, reportedly blew up a ship named al-Awda (the Return) which was chartered by the PLO in 1988 to dramatise the plight of Palestinian refugees. It sank in Limassol.
Vilnai, whose ministry is under fire because of what many Israelis are calling a bungled operation, still insisted it had been the right thing to do: "You cannot allow supplies to go into the giant terrorist base that is being created in the (Gaza) strip and is threatening Israel's heartland," he said

Israelis opened fire before boarding Gaza flotilla, say released activists

First eyewitness accounts of raid contradict version put out by Israeli officials

Survivors of the Israeli assault on a flotilla carrying relief supplies to Gaza returned to Greece and Turkey today, giving the first eyewitness accounts of the raid in which at least 10 people died.
Arriving at Istanbul's Ataturk airport with her one-year-old baby, Turkish activist Nilufer Cetin said Israeli troops opened fire before boarding the Turkish-flagged ferry Mavi Marmara, which was the scene of the worst clashes and all the fatalities. Israeli officials have said that the use of armed force began when its boarding party was attacked.
"It was extremely bad and very tough clashes took place. The Mavi Marmara is filled with blood," said Cetin, whose husband is the Mavi Marmara's chief engineer.
She told reporters that she and her child hid in the bathroom of their cabin during the confrontation. "The operation started immediately with firing. First it was warning shots, but when the Mavi Marmara wouldn't stop these warnings turned into an attack," she said.
"There were sound and smoke bombs and later they used gas bombs. Following the bombings they started to come on board from helicopters."
Cetin is among a handful of Turkish activists to be released; more than 300 remain in Israeli custody. She said she agreed to extradition from Israel after she was warned that conditions in jail would be too harsh for her child.
"I am one of the first passengers to be sent home, just because I have baby. When we arrived at the Israeli port of Ashdod we were met by the Israeli interior and foreign ministry officials and police; there were no soldiers. They asked me only a few questions. But they took everything – cameras, laptops, cellphones, personal belongings including our clothes," she said.
Kutlu Tiryaki was a captain of another vessel in the flotilla. "We continuously told them we did not have weapons, we came here to bring humanitarian help and not to fight," he said.
"The attack on the Mavi Marmara came in an instant: they attacked it with 12 or 13 attack boats and also with commandos from helicopters. We heard the gunshots over our portable radio handsets, which we used to communicate with the Mavi Marmara, because our ship communication system was disrupted. There were three or four helicopters also used in the attack. We were told by Mavi Marmara their crew and civilians were being shot at and windows and doors were being broken by Israelis."
Six Greek activists who returned to Athens accused Israeli commandos of using electric shocks during the raid.
Dimitris Gielalis, who had been aboard the Sfendoni, told reporters: "Suddenly from everywhere we saw inflatables coming at us, and within seconds fully equipped commandos came up on the boat. They came up and used plastic bullets, we had beatings, we had electric shocks, any method we can think of, they used."
Michalis Grigoropoulos, who was at the wheel of the Free Mediterranean, said: "We were in international waters. The Israelis acted like pirates, completely out of the normal way that they conduct nautical exercises, and seized our ship. They took us hostage, pointing guns at our heads; they descended from helicopters and fired tear gas and bullets. There was absolutely nothing we could do … Those who tried to resist forming a human ring on the bridge were given electric shocks."
Grigoropoulos, who insisted the ship was full of humanitarian aid bound for Gaza "and nothing more", said that, once detained, the human rights activists were not allowed to contact a lawyer or the Greek embassy in Tel Aviv. "They didn't let us go to the toilet, eat or drink water and throughout they videoed us. They confiscated everything, mobile phones, laptops, cameras and personal effects. They only allowed us to keep our papers."
Turkey said it was sending three ambulance planes to Israel to pick up 20 more Turkish activists injured in the operation.
Three Turkish Airlines planes were on standby, waiting to fly back other activists, the prime minister's office said.

So let’s get this right. Israel kills Islamic terrorists who are trying to lynch its soldiers by clubbing them to death, stabbing them with massive knives and firebombing them – and according to Sir Jeremy Greenstock, this shows that Israel must now start talking to Hamas, an Islamic terrorist organisation which is committed to the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jews. In other words, when attacked by Islamists waging war on the free world, the correct response is to give in. This was of course the British response right from the start of Arab violence against Jews returning to the Land of Israel in the 1920s – a policy of appeasing terror and punishing its victims that the British continue to this day.
The only consequence of Sir Jeremy Greenstock’s profoundly stupid and craven comment is to strengthen Hamas and weaken not just Israel but all in the region who rightly fear it – such as Egypt. Egypt’s rightful fear of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood is why it maintains a true blockade of Gaza, refusing to allow through any humanitarian aid – unlike Israel, which lets through thousands of tons of aid every week. Yet Sir Jeremy Greenstock was strangely silent about this. Repeating the lie that Gaza was starving, he did not call upon Egypt to lift its blockade of Gaza, only Israel. Why the double standard, Sir Jeremy?
Of course on the Today programme John Humphreys omitted to make this point. He also asked incredulously why Israel had not allowed the Gaza convoy to dock before searching it rather than boarding it on the high seas. Does no-one on the Today programme realise that Israel no longer occupies Gaza – and that it was precisely to usher the convoy into the Israeli port of Ashdod where it could be searched, before the transfer of the humanitarian aid to Gaza, that the Israeli naval commandoes boarded the ships. As the Israel ambassador pointed out, five of the convoys’ ships went peacefully to Ashdod, thus allowing the cargo to be searched and sent on its way. It was only because the sixth ship staged a violent ambush of the commandoes that the debacle occurred.
With its political and media class thus parroting the propaganda of the enemies of the free world, is it any wonder that Britain is the Islamists’ number one recruiting ground?

Interesting you post that piece under that title. So it's fine for Israel to invade other's ships and then kill anyone attempting to defend themselves? However, obviously if Hamas operatives were to invade an Israeli ship, the Israeli's would again be entitled to defend themselves against the evil terrorists.

Not being funny mate, but if this situation wasn't fucked up as it is, I would be pissing myself in laughter at the irony in you posting that article.

We will start to get more glory hunting stories from people looking for their five minutes of fame.

"I am one of the first passengers to be sent home, just because I have baby. On TV she said she was on the Mavi Marmara and talked of the boat being soaked in blood. She also said she is the engineers wife.

seriously I take these stories with a pinch of salt.

I think you are the one who is trying to hard, and when you don't get anywhere you start ranting and shouting rather than address the topics.

You either totally ignore things or dismiss them with no attempt to actually challenge or debate them.

At least I provide rhyme and reason to my views.

You tell me wtf he's doing on the ship in the first place. You also trying to tell me if that was a hamas guy trying to get onto an Israeli ship, that they wouldn't have blown him to smithereens before he got anywhere near that close?

I refer you back to my my point on double standards.

True, pirates have been known to use military helicoptors and to provide radio warnings of entering a port. (They've been spending their ransom money wisely).
