As mobs across Europe are incited to demonstrate against Israel for protecting itself against Turkish terrorist aggression, here is a video clip of Gaza-based Yemeni professor Abd al Fatah Nu’man who spells out what that convoy was really all about:‘This scent is the message of the Islamic message worldwide: Islam is coming, and Gaza is the spearhead that sets the nation in motion...The heroes were selected by Allah to carry out their mission: the mission of awakening the nation...Martyrdom, in case anyone still doesn’t get it, means in this case killing Jews in the cause of the Islamic jihad. That was the real aim of this flotilla.
These are people who wish to be martyred for the sake of Allah; as much as they want to reach Gaza, the other way is more desirable to them.
So when you read the comments of the British Tory Foreign Secretary William Hague who is moved todeplore the loss of lifeand calls upon Israel toallow unfettered access for aid to Gazawhich would allow unfettered access for weapons against Israel – and while Hague makes no such call upon Egypt whose border with Gaza, unlike that of Israel which is letting into Gaza thousands of tons of aid per week, remains totally shut -- remember the words of professor Abd al Fatah Nu’man; and as mobs on the streets in London and elsewhere show their solidarity with his murderous agenda, decide whether he is most likely to win the battle for the free world or Hague is most likely to lose it.
Update: Very glad to see that the good folk at Conservative Home have grasped that Hague's earlier statement puts the Conservatives on the wrong side of the battle for civilisation. But since not only does Hague have form on such a 'disproportionate' attitude to Israel but also the Tories are now in coaltion with the Israel-bashing LibDems, who would blame Israel even if jihadis were to sail a flotilla up the Thames and take the entire LibDem leadership hostage, I would not hold my breath for Hague to start upholding truth and justice in the Middle East.

Phillips was born into a Jewish family. Her father was a dress salesman and her mother ran a children's clothes shop. Both parents were committed Labour voters.[1] She was educated at Putney High School, a girls' independent school in Putney, London, and later read English at St Anne's College, Oxford.
She trained as a journalist on the Evening Echo, a local newspaper in Hemel Hempstead,[1] as her probationary period in the provinces, then compulsory for the profession. After winning the Young Journalist of the Year award in 1976,[1] she spent a short period at the New Society magazine, before joining The Guardian newspaper in 1977 and soon became its social services correspondent and social policy leader writer. Gaining initial attention for articles on the treatment of asylum seekers and immigrants, she broke a story that some female immigrants were being submitted to virginity tests at Heathrow Airport. The policy was quickly changed.[1]
When appointed as the paper's news editor, Phillips fainted on her first day[2] in 1984,[1] she started writing her own opinion column in 1987. As a writer for The Guardian in 1982 she defended the Labour Party at the time of the split with the Social Democratic Party.
Leaving The Guardian, her relationship with the newspaper's readers had become fraught "like a really horrific family argument,".[1] Phillips first took her opinion column to the Guardian's sister-paper The Observer in 1993, and then to the Sunday Times in 1998,[2] before writing regularly for the Daily Mail in 2001. She occasionally writes for the Jewish Chronicle and other periodicals. Since 2003, she has written a blog, now hosted by The Spectator.
Phillips was awarded the Orwell Prize for Journalism in 1996. In 2003, she won the award for "Most Islamophobic Media Personality of the Year"[3] from the Islamic Human Rights Commission. In 2009, she was awarded the Sappho Prize (an award given to a 'journalist who combines excellence in his/her work with courage and a refusal to compromise') by the Danish Free Press Society.
She is married to Joshua Rozenberg, former legal affairs correspondent for the BBC, now Legal Editor of the Daily Telegraph.[4] They have two children.[4]

The BBC has said that Phillips "is regarded as one of the [U.K.] media's leading right-wing voices" and a "controversial" columnist,[5] although she defines herself as a progressive and a defender of liberal democracy.[6] She began her career on the liberal left[4] with the Guardian (which she has since described as "an evil newspaper"[7]), and her gradual drift to the right of the political spectrum has been mirrored by her journalistic career: she now writes for the Daily Mail. She has used her Daily Mail columns and her blog to discuss, amongst other issues, progressive teaching methods,[8] science,[9] Islam,[10] anti-semitism, and Israeli policy;[11] and to support strict anti-drug policies.[12]

The flotilla of six ships, including the Turkish ferry Mavi Marmara, was on its way from Cyprus to Gaza carrying supplies including cement, paper and water purification tablets. HOW ISRAEL RAID UNFOLDED
As the flotilla, still in international waters, neared Gaza, Israeli commandos intercepted the boats from air and sea. This image shows a soldier rappelling from a helicopter onto the upper deck of the ferry. HOW ISRAEL RAID UNFOLDED
The Israelis say their soldiers were set upon and beaten with bats, chairs and metal poles as soon as they boarded the Mavi Marmara. Activists say the soldiers attacked them first. HOW ISRAEL RAID UNFOLDED
As the incident escalated, the Israelis used live weapons on the activists, although the exact circumstances are unclear. This still from Turkish TV footage shows first aid being given to an injured activist. HOW ISRAEL RAID UNFOLDED
At the end of the incident at least 10 activists were dead. Israel escorted the flotilla to the port of Ashdod and detained the protesters. An online maritime tracking map shows the route taken by the boats.
