I've been editing videos for years and had AVI's nailed using VirtualDub.
But since using MKV's, I'm looking to learn more about MKV's, MKVMerge & MKVToolNix to help sort out my library exactly how I want it.
For Example, I have a film that is MKV - it contains the HD Video and DTS Audio (usually 2 or 3 audio tracks 'Commentary' and 'German').
I know how to strip the Commentary track and the German etc, what I cant get my head around is Subtitles. Let's say this particular film only has English subtitles throughout the whole film. I can strip that out.
But what can I replace it with to ensure the Forced Subs (the ones for foreign parts of the film) remain?
I want to do this for 2 reasons.
1) To streamline my collection and make the filesizes smaller.
2) To try to stop the problems with missed subtitled part of films where the foreign parts are.
