how to replace liteon drive with a benq

hi, i need to replace a liteon 360 drive and i was thinking of replacing it with a benq drive. i am not sure of what i need to do this. i don't want to play backups just replace. i have replaced a benq for a benq so i know how to use jungleflasher ... sort of lol.

If you play live then replace it with a liteon.
Why do you want to change the drive anyway?

Just stick a new laser in it as i bet that's all that's wrong with it

will only cost you about £6 from ebay

its making a grinding noise similar to that of the ghostbusters siren with or without a disc in it and not recognising discs at all.

i believed you could spoof a liteon drive on the benq. i dont mind replacing liteon to liteon i was led to believe the benq drives were more reliable and better in some way.

tbh i dont think i will be online with it, i cant afford live so thats not a prob and atm i only have 1 game blue dragon.

The laser is probably whats causing it, trying like feck to read the disc makes an awful noise!

If you have a benq there already change the laser from the benq to the liteon (same laser)
If not then i would advise a new liteon in all fairness.
Any liteon drive will do the firmware will change the revision.

ok so i should replace liteon for liteon, but do i need anything to extract the key .

Tell you what i have some liteon chassis here.

If you can solder in the pcb (6wires) thats all you will need to do.
£7 posted cant say fairer than that!

No it's complete with laser so you only need to solder in your pcb unless you wanna send me your drive and i'll change it for you?
