It has and it seems to be a very good offer but i am put off by the fact that they piggy back onto o2 so i have no idea what the Quality of Service will be like.

Can anyone comment on this, i am swaying back to Vodafone again

I didnt know Tesco piggyback O2. This is pretty good for me because O2 is the only decent signal I can get around my house. I've been with them years because of this and now i've got another option. My O2 contract runs out this month but havent been able to get my hands on an iphone 4 yet, not for want of trying.
Does anybody know if they have stock of these at tescos?

give them a quick call ..Please call 0800 433 4994 to order

hopefully if you have got a month left before upgrade / network change the stocking levels should have started to increase and most back orders completed

I called into tesco mobile on Saturday morning and they had no stock. I am on their list for the next batch and there was around 30 people on the list.

    Hi guys,

I got this contract on launch day. Signal coverage is really good for me, no problems at all. Apparently the 3G supplied is not O2 though, not 100% sure on that tho.

If you got any questions, give me a shout.

i too picked this up on launch day with tesco - great offer as it also includes 1000 tesco club card points and triple points on your brill, plus with double points in store, saving quite a bit.

I have had no problems so far - telephone and 3g have been as expected, and i was told the entire networks including 3g is provided by 02.
If I'm not back in five minutes... wait longer!

12 month contract. Not hear that term for a long time!

Seems perfect, as a new jesus phone will be out when your contract runs up.

I think the 20 quid 12 month one is the best value.

If you were buying the phone from apple it would be £499

This contract plus the upfront charge of the hardware = £579 total

so you're only paying £80 for a years service = under £7 per month.

just need someone to confirm they are unlocked.

Cut a orange sim to fit and it just gives a no service tried turning of and on and still no go so it does seem like they are locked.

I was going to get one of these on tesco mobile and give the contract to my son to use in his shitty phone and I take the nice new iphone . Shame it appears to be locked, 600 notes off to Apple then for an unlocked one.

As a matter of interest I thought the iPhones were locked via that carrier update bit and basically if your phone has a carrier name in Settings -> General -> About then that means it's locked to that network?

    For example

vodafone UK 7.0 -> Locked to Vodafone
    Carrier 7.0 -> Unlocked

I'm guessing here but thought that how it worked was that Apple basically have a massive list of IMEI numbers which tally up to a carrier update that is sent to the phone - and when you unlock via your provider they just mark it as unlocked, and that's when it downloads the new generic carrier update "Carrier 7.0" and for all intents and purposes it's then SIM Free?

Have any of you got SIM Free iPhones or unlocked iPhones that could check this out please?

Well my iPhone has a case of the blue blob, so need a replacement. So got hold of the local Tesco's where I brought it, and I am now priority over the other people on the list, but apparently they have not had any stock since the initial launch stock and the scary thing, is they have NO CLUE when the next batch will arrive.

So looks like people will have to wait a long time
