Default Whats the easiest way to transfer video to dvd without taking it to a shop

Hi, my girfiriend has some old videos of her graduation and other family videos that she would like to keep and transfer over to DVD. This would need to be easy to do as she is not that technical.

Can anyone recomend easiest way and likely costs. Video will be about 5 meters away from PC.

Thanks in advance for any help / recomendation.

    Dazzle - £29.99 on Amazon.

Just plug the vcr output into it and then the usb into a PC and you can record the feed.

    My Nan does it............. lol

Thanks all for the above, with VHS being a poor quality and some of the videos being really old is their anything that can be used to restore some of the quality to them?

At present she has the video and may be able to get hold of dvd recorder. In terms of cables what cables would you need to enable stretch to video?

If she connected video to dvd recorder could she then take disk and then transfer to pc and use video software to enhance but would then need to burn to another disk?

    Sorry about noob questions

you should be able to get a scart cable from the tv port on vhs player to the input scart socket on the back of the dvd recorder .
if you want to improve the picture quality then you will need to make sure you finalize the disk in the dvd recorder then put into pc.from that you will need to pick the best software that you can get used to.
its not easy to improve vhs image, maybe able to tweek colour & sharpen.if the picture wobbles i think you can fix that with vurtuadub i think.

Improving the quality will be a bit tricky. Once you have a finalised DVD you can copy the VIDEO_TS (large files) and AUDIO_TS (normally empty) folders to the PC and open into a editing program. I would search online for some automated apps as the pro apps will leave you lost if you aren't willing to read the how to manuals (these are legthy and confusing in most cases).

Once finished you will need to burn to another DVD unless you used a DVD-RW. I advise against RW discs.
