Yaya 'on £200k a week at Man City'

Manchester City have made Yaya Toure the Premier League's first £200,000-a-week player according to reports.
The £24m signing from Barcelona starts life at Eastlands on £185,000-a-week but has engineered a rise to £221,000-a-week from next April, when the government's new 50% tax rise comes into force.
Toure will take home £5.75million a year after tax.
It is an incredible deal for a player who made just 13 starts for Barca last season.


Manchester City team-mate Robinho was previously the Premier League's highest-paid player on £160,000-a-week. Chelsea's John Terry is thought to earn £151,000-a-week.

Not buying this especially from the Mirror, they did exactly the same when City signed Viera, reported 150k per week etc, actually turns out 25k per week plus appearance bonus goal bonus etc. I'd take this with a pinch of salt the tabloids don't appear to be fans City. If they are paying Yaya £200k a week, a guy who couldn't even get into the Barca first team last season, how much would they be prepared to pay a real world star like Ronaldo, Messi, etc.....

His agent will have negotiated his pay as nett pay, hence the increase to £221k when the 50% tax comes in.

Was stated as not true today by his agent on talksport its not even half that amount weekly, what the papers have done have added up all the bonus' he could possibly get over the term his contract added it to his wages and viola. Biased reporting at its best......
