Bad News Hargreaves Set-Back Yet Again

"Owen Hargreaves has today been ruled out of United's pre-season tour.

Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV: "The bad news is that Owen Hargreaves is back in America seeing the specialist. He won't be ready for the start of the season. I don't know when he'll be back."

The midfielder was sidelined between September 2008 and April 2010 and required surgery on both knees but did return to action at the end of last season. He played 45 minutes for the Reserves before making a brief appearance off the bench in the first-team's final away fixture at Sunderland."

As my Dad says, you should shoot em like you do with lame race horses! Such a waste of talent and money!

I genuinely thought Hargreaves would be back this season, it looked like he was over the worst of it at the end of last season. My patience has now run out, we need to end his contract and bring someone in who can actually make it onto the pitch. Hargreaves being back was meant to be like a new signing, now it just feels like yet another player we've missed out on.

Fuck sake, not again, I feel for the lad. Great player on his day but i'm beginning to feel we will never see him play again in a United shirt.

Exactly my thoughts. Hopefully it will be a minor setback and he'll come back like Gary Neville did and do a good job:.............wishful thinking! Fergie does need to work on the central midfield desperately

Better value than a Pope visit.

I spoke too soon, Nevilles crocked again. With all the injuries to the defence last season and with these players still prone to injuries; I think United are the new Tottenham! Looking forward to some transfer activity as Fergie still hasn't had a clearout. But after another press release of him saying yet again that the Market value of players ain't right, I think it's a cover up that he hasn't much money to spend! I can only hope someone comes in for Berbatov and Anderson, and United go out and get some midfielders.

This preseason should be a big stage for the young strikers to show their potential and emerge as real first team players!
