Memory spec looks good to me chap. Speed, voltage, everything checks out for your board.

Have you got someone locally you could pop round and slot them into their board to try.

Otherwise as you say, it's an unknown as to which component....

This is probably a daft idea, but it might be worth recording the beeps & either posting it for others to filter/analyse using audio editing software or play it back through vlc, windows media player @ a slower rate.

Just noticed your board only supports two memory slots.....

Try it with only one memory module installed in the first slot. If it still does the same try the other slot, then doi the same with the other memory module to try and rule out the RAM. If it will boot to bios screen you will have to set the RAM voltages manually to make work correctly...

You get a similar problem with 4 memory slot boards if they are installed in the wrong slots.

Gigabyte usually have 4 phase LEDs on the mobo. If you can film them and the beeps it might help.

Does it turn on then turn off after a few seconds? Do you have a graphics card installed?

    Hi mate.

    Found this in the manual

Q: What do the beeps emitted during the POST mean?
A: The following Award BIOS beep code descriptions may help you identify possible computer problems.
    (For reference only.)
    1 short: System boots successfully
    2 short: CMOS setting error
1 long, 1 short: Memory or motherboard error
1 long, 2 short: Monitor or graphics card error
1 long, 3 short: Keyboard error
1 long, 9 short: BIOS ROM error
Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly
    Continuous short beeps: Power error

However I have had this same issue with memory. Have you tried one memory stick in each slot to see if it will post..

Check page 85&86 of the manual and run through the flow chart to see if you can narrow down the problem as well.

Check for any shorts from the board ti the chassis via the standoffs. Is it possible for you to remove it from the case and try it laid out on a desk????

Have tried it without the memory in and different memory which just landed today with no memory its the above noise, with memory in its a different set of beeps.

board is sitting on supplied brass standoffs could it be shorting on these ??

What beeps do you get with the different memory???? Is it in the list above???

It could be the brass standoffs causing a short. make sure they are in the right place.

You need to have memory, cpu and graphics in, then see how it beeps, those are the 3 main parts for a pc to post correctly. But as above the continuous beeps according to the manual is a power problem so make sure there are no loose, moved pins in the connectors also make sure you have any extra power connectors to the board and graphics card connected. ok onboard graphics should handle its self.

If its still playing up pull the board out of the case and try it sat on the desk or board box, again with power, cpu and memory to rule out any earthing and shorting problems.

OK, put board on box, memory and processor in, here are the results to me it sounds like a long and then 2 short beeps ?

OK stick the bleading CPU cooler on there as well.

1 long 2 short is a graphics error, as its onboard its a board fault. If you have a graphics card somewhere put it on the board and see if it allows it to boot. but in short the board needs to go back.

Do you have the stock CPU cooler? I had a similar issue with my new build when using the Artic Freezer Pro. I had to remove it and use the Intel stock heatsink and fan and my problems were resolved. And if you are using the i5-750 you need a GPU installed as it does not have GPU support on the CPU. AFAIK all i3 and i5 CPUs except the i5-750 have GPU support on the CPU.

And as LJ said, do not fire up the machine without any CPU cooling for longer than it takes the phase LEDs to illuminate and turn off which shows it is POSTing correctly!

    Hmm.

Difficult to tell. That sounded like the normal post beep on my board.

One question is that the I5-750 I sold you???

I noticed you have the monitor plugged into the onboard video port but the I5 I sold does not support on board video via integrated GPU on the processor...... You will need to connect a seperate video card.

Well that would explain it, I wasn't sure if he had bought the i5-750 from you mate.

I would guess that the mega heatsink you were using caused the initial constant beeps (not enough power being supplied) and the next beep issue is because you do not have a GPU installed as the i5-750 doesn't handle on-chip GPU processing. You will need a PCI/PCI-e GPU and connect your monitor to that and not the onboard connections!

I'm not sure the heat sink would cause the power problem but there may still be a shorting issue when the MB is in the case....
