HP6820s asking which Vista boot to use when first switched on

I have a HP6820s laptop with vista, everything works fine, but when I switch it on, the BIOS black screen comes up and asks me to select which Vista to use... both are the same, its almost as if the BIOS thinks it has 2 versions installed and needs me to select one. I have checked the C drive and there is only one folder called "windows"
I am not a pc genius so any help would be required, where can i look?? This is more annoying than vital.

right click computer in start menu > properties > advanced > (startup and recovery) settings > untick time to display list of operating systems

Probably just a duplicate entry in the BCD file. You can probably edit one put with easyBCD or similar but be careful as doing the wrong thing can leave the system unbootable
