My 3.4e did this, you need to replace to private folder in the root of the sd card with the other private folder which is located in the alternative folder

Yes, it should - But best to update.

Games are region locked, but it makes no odds playing from a HDD. The Loader deals with this for you I believe. I've never had any issues, unless the game was in French!

tried installing a game on a 2.5" hd in an external enclosure but it didn't work, however copying a game in cfg usb loader from disc to the hd and then playing it off the hd did work ???
anyway, tried it again on another proper external hd and that worked without any problem.

how can i install the cfg usb-loader to run off the hd and not the sd card? i would prefer to use the channel forwarder method.

Zoots, your "power" and "reset" buttons on the front of the console control this screen, I cant remember which way round but one is to scroll(RESET- I think) between the icons and the other is to select(POWER- I think).

Under the settings there should be an option to boot straight to the wii menu rather than the bootmii menu showing in your pic above

When the guide says "Go to 'BootMii NAND Backup' Section" I was looking for that on the TV screen..
I'm backing up the NAND now before I carry on.

I'm using WBFS and a thumb drive at the moment as my spare external hard drive is at work. Managed to get New Super Mario Brothers up and running on it but can't select a World. In the menu it says press - to choose World but then when I get there any button I press just takes me back to the map..?
Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

.:edit:. Scratch that. Got my HDD and it's working fine.

Just a quick message to thank Renke and the community, the information on here has been tip-top as usual. Managed to do a 4.2e and 4.3e (using BatHaxx) flawlessly. Had to dig a bit to find out how to get Black Ops working (Installed cIOS224) and all's well.

Bought a USB drive full of ISOs.

Got an issue when trying to play them in Config loader as they all crash with an error stating that ios249 is too low.

ios249 is revision 17

Any ideas?
