Hi Renke,

ok ive done 3 wii's in the past and all still working using USB Loader, however its been a while since i done one and have lost the files (and my old nand backups)
The system im going to mod is 3.4E how would i go about updateing to 4.2E before doing the softmod as i want to use priiloader to install a dol to boot straight to USB Loader, skipping the system menu.
Or should i just use the <4.1 guide and skip the priiloader option?
Regards

EDIT: does anyone still have the files for less than 4.1? thanks

Now then d3xt0r,
You can't update to 4.1E or 4.2E unless you softmod first -
A nintendo online update will put you on 4.3E something you seriously don't want to do.
Softmod Files
The files and tutorial are in the sticky, you will need to delete the private folder and replace it with the one in the alternative folder to softmod a 3.4E
There have been some useful apps out lately and multi mod manager is one of them (used in tutorial) It allows you to do a offline update in a couple of minutes, alot faster than 4.2 safe updater.
UpdatePAL4.2E
- Follow the tutorial but at (3) Do the following:-
- Copy the unzipped update 'UpdatePAL4.2E' folder to the WAD folder on your SD Card
- Run Multi-Mod Manager from the HBC
- At Main menu select 'Load another IOS' choose 249
- At Main menu select 'WAD Manager'
- Select 'UpdatePAL4.2E' Folder
- Press (1) to select ALL WADS then Press A to Install
It will now update All your IOS's, latest shopping channel and 4.2E System menu.
Then you can go to (4) and install Priiloader
However if you do autoload files from priiloader make sure you always have a synced wiimote as it's a pain if they loose sync as priiloader loads the file before the re-sync process takes place.

Hi there Renke quick question for you, can you boot the iso's from USB drives or do I have to burn some discs? Iv'e not done my wi yet was just looking and found your guide lol, Iv'e been out of the game for a while now but your softmod sound great I have 3 SD cards here 2x2GB & 1 512MB its an old wi not switched it on in about a year so should work right?
PS3 Gamer Tag : RESiDENT-UK
Now then RESiDENT-UK,
The iso's are selected then transfered to the USB drive using a 'Game Manager' (PC App) then played by the USB Loader.
Original games can be put into the Wii and transfered to the USB drive via the USB Loader.
The Game Manager & USB Loader will strip away the crap & updates from the games before transfering them to the USB Hard Drive.
You shouldn't have any issues....
Regards
Wicked gonna give this a go tonight once i get new remotes lol

Done my Wii a long time ago and still works top notch!
I've been asked by a Pal to do his for him. Only problem is, he's on 4.3E.
Can it be downgraded to install the USB Loader to it? Or is 4.3E sorted yet?
--EDIT--
Just read that Downgrading your Wii is DANGEROUS!
Any idea's what I can do?
BootMii?

DejaVu,
You can downgrade the 4.3 to 4.1 using the mauifrog guide on wiihacks
You need a copy of lego indiana jones original if he hasn't got a cios or channel forwarder.

Sorted it using Lego Indiana Jones.
But now my one's no longer working for some reason. Already modded ages ago (4.2E), but I think I have a few stubbed IOS's.
Can I revive it by simply loading MMM and removing stubbed IOS's?
HBC, BootMii, Priiloader and Wii Flow is already installed.
Stubbed IOS's shouldn't give you an issue, whats not working for you?
You can always run a syscheck and post the results.

Hi Guys,
followed renke's guide and think i have been successful - had a modded wii but followed the whole guide and everything is working as expected so big thanks to renke!
One issue i have is that i used 1 card for bootmi and nand's, so i keep booting into the sd card. My problem is i can't find bootmi configurator anywhere to change to settings - can anyone give me a clue?
thanks
Q
If I'm not back in five minutes... wait longer!
Just rename the bootmii folder to something else or copy it to your PC then remove it from your SD card.
Regards.
thanks mate - will give that a go.
Also, i had a play with priloader and set one of the options ti autopress A on the health and safety screen however i still need to manually press it - does that mean my setupof priiloader doesnt work?
thanks
