Mobile disco help.

Hi all,

Have bought into a mobile disco setup with my broinlaw.
Wondering what the best type of flightcase would be needed so i no longer need a table, i dont like using the venues tables as it looks tatty and unproffesional!

Also any other advice would be apprechated, or drop me a PM

Need to know what kit you have?

Are you playing through a PC mixer set up? Or front loading media players?

Pending on your kit, most places may have several case options or be able to help you tailor make a case. There used ot be a place online (talking years back) that you could build a case including padding, choosing latches etc. Have a google.

Talking tables though, I always found it best to still use a table, and have my kit on top of my flight case. I would never stick a flight case on a stand.

The only reason i did put my kit on my flight case was it was then raised, no drinks could be put on the same level platform.

Most people now, have a laptop set up with mixer/external sound card and sometimes one or two pieces of further external hardware, although you don't need it. I would recommend a laptop, and an external mixing desk hardware. They have come a long way and latency is no longer an issues (pending set up).

However, if you have some decent skills on the decks or CDJ's then i have yet to see and try a PC external mixing solution that comes close (in terms of scratching and on the fly creativity), but thats often all down to the user.

Also what kind of market, venue, client are you looking to deal with? Are you full laiden with lights and framing as well etc etc.
