    Photos Hover Head

This hoverfly was sat on a holly leaf this evening, getting quite dark so had to illuminate myself.

There was a breeze but the flash helped keep it fairly sharp. Tripod mounted so camera was steady but the holly was moving all the while.

Cropped it close in on the eye so you can see a bit of the detail in there.

    WDYT?

Indeed the Hovers were out in force today Paul (have a couple myself which I'll be putting up probably Monday as I'm out in Yorkshire all day tomorrow visiting a friend).

Now this is a superb shot mate. They really do have an almost primate type facial profile from the side on. Excellent detail and nice and sharp.
