Yeah I stumbled across that thread. A bunch of people in the thread already tried it with no luck.

Toyed around with this again the other day and actually found the watermark. It won't be long before someone writes a program that removes it.

Isn't there a law against copyright circumvention that's already got this board in trouble with Sony?

Hmmm you would have to ask the mods it had nothing to do with this nor is cinavia Sony but the way Sony are...
Pm me what you found if you don't mind - I have zero interest in copying stuff but as an audio/electronics engineer I'm deeply curious about this in a technical capacity . There is very little info out there

It sounds like when you choose "1080" on 360/PS3 your tv will be downscaling the image to 1366x768, hence that's why you only get that as a max res when connecting a PC.

How are you connecting it, out of interest? (HDMI-HDMI or DVI-HDMI)
What tv is it and is it FullHD or HD-Ready?

    Apologies for the OT stuff.

Good luck with the cinavia testing, you have made some progress at least
Sounds like you've bought a "hd capable" tv with a native resolution of 1366x766 - my old man's in the same boat - got a sony 40" thinking it was proper hd but it isn't. It says 1080p on trhe screen when flicking to a 1080p input, but it cannot properly display 1080p.

I personally reckon it's a scam, surely on that basis, if I could wire a hdmi socket to something to average the whole picture and display via a light bulb, I could sell that as hd.

    Native res is 1920x1080...

It's defo a scam though. My Dad got done with the same thing. Went out and got a proper nice Samsung and got it home and it's max res is 1080i... Doesn't bother him like but the guy in the shop told him it was 'full hd' because it could do 1080...
