Fucked up updating my iphone4

Was having massive battery problems with my new JB iphone4. So I saved my SHSH with littleumbrela (well I thought I did ) tryed to restore it via iTunes with Shift key update 4.0.1. Buy i keep getting a error so I just installed 4.2 as I should of been able to downgrade to 4.0.1 but I'm getting the same error code. Totally gutted is there anyway I can sort this problem :-s

Did you alter your hosts file to point at Saurik's server rather than apple's ?

If you're restoring from a local SHSH file then you'll need to load TinyUmbrella and whack start TSS server.

Sure did to change the host file. Never touch anything in littleumbrela tho I'll have a go now :-)

Still no joy, do you mean local as in the phone or the pc.
U2 might be getting a call tomorrow bad battery need a new phone lol

Sorry by local I meant a copy of the SHSH blob saved to the PC - it is usually saved to %UserProfile%\.shsh

TinyUmbrella attempts to modify your hosts file when it starts up, so if the file is read only, or you don't run it with elevated privileges, or you have some security software blocking TinyUmbrella access, then you might get something like this:

08/26/2010 00:15:40.078 NOT running as administrator OR your hosts file is not editable - Cannot listen on port 80! TSS Server will not work!

If the SHSH blob was saved to Cydia then try downloading it by ticking Advanced Options, set Device/Version to iPhone4 4.0.1 (8A306) and Request From to Cydia, and then click Save My SHSH.

Also be sure to restore in DFU mode, I had loadsa problems thinking I was is in DFU when I wasnt. You know when youre in DFU when you see 'new usb' device in windows.

Cheers lads iv tryed both ways and still getting error code 3194.
O2 have had a phone call and i have a new iphone4 on its way lets hope its not already upgraded to 4.2 lol

I suspect you didnt have your shsh blobs on sauriks server so when running tiny server you need to change the apple dns to that of your local machine 127.0.0.1 otherwise it will try and get the blobs from sauriks server and if they aint there it wont work, as you saved them with umberalla they will be on the local machine and then you wll be able to downgrade.

Thanks crow but its to late now the iphone is on its way back to o2 i have my new one i'll just have to wait for the jailbreak to come for the 4.0.2
