Microsoft announced the price of the Xbox LIVE Gold subscription will increase for users in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States starting November 1st 2010:

Since launching Xbox LIVE in 2002 we have continually added more content and entertainment experiences for our members, while keeping the price the same. We're confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry.

However, we do want to thank our loyal members and give you the opportunity to lock in your current price with an additional discount, so now would be a good time to renew your subscription.

having said that I used to happily pay my xbox live subs and probably still would if I had a machine I could put on live - ps3 and psn does me fine at the moment

will grab one of the new 360's soon so no doubt will pay subs again

not only that - it's 10 DOLLARS a year increase so even less than ten quid . Can't see anyting about the annual fee in the UK going up anywhere though so why are people talking about it going up 10 POUNDS??

Even look at the monthly. In the UK it goes up £1 and in the US it goes up $2. Finally us Brits aint getting screwed with the exchange rate.

hardly suprising as they have kept the price pretty constant so it was always gonna go up at some point.

never tries PSN so cant comment on the differences but i am quite happy with Xbox Live, renewed my yearly subscription from ebay for £28 so not really bothered about the increase (if it even affects the yearly paid subs) as i have my flashed xbox too so the money im saving on buying new games can easily cover my subscription

Unbelievable!, take a look at how much Sony charge for their online PC games http://station-access.station.sony.com/saveCalc.vm , and this is their special saver price! When I used to play Planetside in the early days (when it was good, 2003-2005ish) that game alone was £8 per Month!! the servers were up and down like a whores drawers with nobody around to sort them at the weekends!
MS have got an unrivalled and very reliable service going for which they charge, compared to what Sony charge for online gaming on the PC, what is a pittance! They've kept the price the same from day one and even if they put it up for the Annual sub in the UK it'll still be great value you bunch of cheapskates!
