... Now got a Samsung Galaxy S...


It has opened my eyes. I am now 100% an android convert. The iphone, even the 4G, is poor in comparison. The screen is awesome. The GPU and CPU far better than any iPhone.... I am well happy with it.

Only downside is 1 app that I cannot get on it. Only 1 though.

And.... That it comes loaded with Samsung apps. May have to root to remove these.

I always thought the iphone was the market leader... Because I never looked elsewhere.

I have used numerous Android handsets and tablets but still am not impressed enough to ditch the iPhone. They are developing very quickly though, I think that competition between manufacturers is going to help push android handets further than the iPhone and more quickly. Apple leave out quite basic features on each handset to use as a USP on the following handset, with more android competition the future may get quite exciting

I sold my iPhone 3G for a good price and made do with a Nokia 2330 whilst waiting for the iPhone 4 to come in stock. After owning for just over 2 weeks though, I returned it as my handset suffered from severe signal loss (dropped calls-o-rama), I frequently fat faced speaker/end, and the camera made people look horribly orange on night photos.

Think I'm going to try and hold out with the Nokia again until the Desire HD comes out

Try the samsung Galaxy S. They have obviously stolen a lot of ideas from the iphone... Which makes it better... But hardware wise, it is the most powerful phone out there. I love it. It is superfast. And has everything I need without having to install jailbreak apps.

Funny you say this, i'm tempted to ditch the Desire and go for another iPhone. Sometimes I love my Desire but other times I miss how the iPhone just works (I don't make many call's so can live with the death grip).

My iphone was too slow. And needed jailbreaking, just so I could live with it. I prefer the Galaxy S. But it's all personal preference.

For sure. If I couldn't JB the iPhone 4 then I wouldn't even think about it. I really do like my Desire but find my self let down that it somethings don't work properly like the 720p video recording. Does the Galaxy do 720p and if so does it work well?

But I think you really need to play with one before you buy it.

I was worried I'd hate it and want the iphone back at first. But I am a bit smug now when I see my mates with 4Gs. "Oh nice screen."

There's a hack on XDA that gives the desire 30fps 720p recording, not something i'm too bothered about. Does look like the author has messed with alot of the system files so not sure i'd be happy to use it.... shows it's possible though.

Maybe I need to look at this phone because every other android phone I have recently toyed with hadn't made me even consider getting rid of the iphone. If it makes the iphone 4 look poor then it must be a huge leap up from any HTC phone.

I had choppy 720p video on my desire, opened up the back and noticed my memory card that was supplied was only a class 2 samsung, replaced with class 6 and was much improved
