I've seen exactly three wasps this year, all in the past few weeks. Normally there'd be too many to count.

I reckon about 2 months solid of sub-zero temperatures must have knackered them all, which is damn good in my opinion. We need more proper winters to keep crap parts of wild life under control.

It'll no doubt have knackered the bees too - that's not so good.

    That's very true.

My entire comment was tongue-in-cheek actually, I don't mind wasps in the slightest and wouldn't really want any wildlife to be killed.

Used ant powder only last week to get shot of wasps in my roof. They were going in under one of the tiles so I dusted the area and after an hour of them freaking they fucked off. Once they trample the powder inside and kill the queen they all go. Had a few stragglers hanging around the next day actually in the loft, but trusty Raid sorted them out.

    Total spend £3.98.

    Fuck the council.

Reckon could have shaved another quid off as well...

I got the B&Q Ant Powder for £1.99, but there was a "value" one as well for 99p! Had the same ingredient, but I didn't want to look a cheapskate while queuing at the till with a "value" range bottle in my hand...

That's the spirit riget, I'm amused! I had big mother fucking wasps in the house but they only stung my wife. I laugh now though because she's my ex-wife.

To deal with them, I rigged up a light and got my gloves, flash hood and goggles. I had a right go at them until the light suddenly went out! After that, I just ripped the nest out <indecipherable> but I froze it first. I like to have a laugh!

Back to the original question, if it's on the ground pour boiling water on it then retreat. Do it again if required.

I've had to deal with 3 in the last 3 years and that method works a charm.
same here m8, infact I think I remember learning this way from {909} when he posted it before, only thing I did other than the ant powder was spray some expanding foam into the holes they were using to get in and out and because I couldnt get at the nest to remove it I drilled a couple of small holes around it and sprayed the expanding foam in, not had any problems since,

Reviving an old thread here I know, but anyone got any tips for removing honey bees (or do the same tactics apply). The bairns shouted me out earlier to say they thought we had a bees nest...sure enough, theres a small hole in the pointing and bees were coming in and out of it. I had a can of insect/wasp killer so sprayed a shit load through the hole, and then at some of them that were trying to get in, then I sprayed some expanding foam in the gap. Now I have about 20-30 of them swarming around trying to get in, or find an alternative way in.
    Any tips ?

Yup, just call your council and they will sort it out.
If it's honey bees a local bee keeper can come out and rehome the hive(?). Much better way of doing it.

Bee's are fine as long as you don't piss them off they wont harm you, and we need bee's more than we do the nasty wasp fuckers.

Yeah, I know, and I would rather not have to kill them, but I see little choice...the nest (?) could be anywhere behind that wall.

did you spray a liquid or a power tronads? Powder is the key and leaving the nest open afterwards for 15 - 30 mins is essential. It sounds like you have sealed the nest before the bees can find out the queen is dead so they are buzzing around to serve her. Once the queen is dead the hive knows and they fuck off of their own accord.
I'm sure we did some bees as well as wasps back int' day so same shit should work, although It may be worth contacting a bee keeper or someone like that who may be able to advise you on a way to do it without causing to much damage.

It was liquid, it was all I could find, and I dont even know if I was spraying the nest, I was just spraying through the hole in the mortar. I don't think it always follows that the nest would be immediately behind the hole does it ? So I could well have been spraying nothing. I don't even know if this spray would kill them anyway, it says flies + wasps...would that kill bees as well ?
That said, I have found several dead bees lying around, so I think they must be the ones that were buzzing around that I was trying to spray away.
