    Retro NES

    Hey y'all.

Just been offered something of interest. A Nintendo Entertainment System.

What kind of price do the original NES system command these days?

    cheers

I bought one a couple of years ago to rip the insides out and make it a housing for a PC.

Think I paid about £30 for it with everything. Never tried to see if it worked, still got the guts somewhere!

Really? I thought these might have had some form of retro interest now as they must be dwindling in numbers (working ones at least)

You got any pics of the pc you made Goldy? Sounds top!

Just heard back from them. They want 40 notes for it. It has 4 games with it. Two i've never heard of and super mario 3 and legend of zelda (the gold cartridge one)

Isnt this or the games quite collectable?

for something to be collectable, or atleast valuable it has to be rare and since nintendo sold 61million of the things, its unlikely they will ever be worth more and pocket money, If you got hold of one in amazing condition it would be worth more, but a mere working system isnt rare at all. Faulty ones can be repaired quite cheaply.

I wouldn't pay £40 for it, as has been said you can pick these up at car boots for less than £10.
They are not always boxed and in mint condition, but they work and it's the same with Master System I/II, MegaDrive, SNES, DC, Saturns etc...

If the games are packaged and boxes then they might be worth keeping if they are in excellent condition, otherwise wait until they bin it and take it from the bin

they aint worth that much mate, and somethings are a bit misleading, for example the gold zelda carts are extremely collectable if you have a first edition of them, they mass produced the gold ones after the initial run of limited ones (this is all from memory so might be wrong) so aint worth much

always good to have a play on tho
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

there are 3 or 4games out there on nes worth alot of money, one is a track and field type game( forgotten the name), was only about 30 odd carts released before it was recalled for some reason. If you find a working nes with a robbie the robot for 40 bucks, now thats worth getting, hes worth a bit on his own

they all tend to be working ones anyway. the original ones are bulletproof

I've got an Elite cart for mine that I paid a fair bit for, which seems fairly rare, same as this one...

If you want to get a collectable console and games get into the neo geo aes scene. The games can be pricey but they are fairly rare and the cost of the carts rise year on year.

the cost of the carts new were excess of 100 quid if i remember right, prob why they are so rare now. Again from memory, only difference between the carts and arcade was the speed they ran at, the coin op versions seems to be quicker, possibly due to them running 60 hz and the home versions being 50 hz.
