you can't go down to 4.0.1 if your on 4.0.2, you'll need to wait for 4.1 to be jailbroke when released next week.

just the normal cable is all you need.

They are not going to jailbreak 4.0.2 but are planning to jailbreak 4.1 after its released.

This may seem like a daft question but can you not downgrade to 4.0.1 via iTunes and restoring to the firmware that way?

Apple stop digitally signing the old firmware as they release new ones..... unless the shsh blobs are saved either to sauriks server using cydia or via tiny umbrella you can't downgrade

Hmm that's interesting. I'm currently looking at an iPhone 3G for a mate, it was on 4.0.2 when he got it and I've just downgraded it to 4.0.1 via the latest version of iTunes. Then did the Jailbreak which seemed to work fine and Cydia installed ok.

The trouble is it's simlocked to O2 and works fine with that sim, but when trying to unlock it using Ultrasn0w, the process seems to run through fine but after the device has rebooted it the simlock is still enabled despite the baseband is 5.13.04 which Ultrasnow apparently supports.

I'm just doing some digging at the moment as I don't if the device being upped to 4.0.2 has upgraded something else within it which is preventing the unlock from working.
