    Default Tethering on iPhone 4

Was sitting playing around with my phone last night and noticed the option is available to tether!

My phone isn't jailbroken, standard Vodafone £35/Month however the option is there... on my mates he has a button to set up tethering in its place.

Think this would be safe to use? My allowance is 1GB ... but could be handy for using on the go to check websites and such.

Careful mate, voda might hit you for additional charges:

How tethering works on your iPhone

Tethering is charged separately from the 1GB of mobile internet use that you get as part of your pay monthly price plan. As soon as you tether your laptop or netbook to the internet, you'll pay £5 for 500MB that lasts for 30 days. Use more than 500MB in that time and you'll pay £5 for each extra 500MB.
Pretty sure jailbroken phones using MyWi or similar don't get hit though.

    wankers,

previously you had to set up tethering and pay, now looks like they do it as a stealth charge!

FYI, here's a screenshot of his mate's tethering option on o2:

So o2 are still asking you to set it up, looks like Vodafone are the stealthy bastards...
