    Default start up problem

    Hi
I seem to have two problems and I am not sure if they are related. More than often now my pc freezes on boot up on the first screen (video card details) even before the memory count and bios post. The re-set button does not work and has to be switched off at the plug and after a couple of times boots up properly. Then sometimes freezes at either desktop or on the internet and after re-setting works perfectly well and even re boots as required. Problems only seem to be on first usage and then seems ok when I get it running.
Can anyone please shine some light on this one as it has only recently started.
    Thanks

First off welcome to Digital-Forums .

Your problem could be a number of things, but first we need some more info. Can you supply PC spec please?? (PSU, GFX card, CPU etc).

Hi fellas, is the heatsink & fan seated properly on the duron?
Do you know if in the bios the chip temperature was set to powerdown at a certain temp?
I did this and knocked the heatsink when installing more memory and it wouldnt boot cos of the heat.

    Thanks Nelly.t
Temperature is within limits and all in the bois is ok. but I do wonder now if it is a power problem such as a faulty psu or a dry solder somewhere as all the problems are within the first few minutes of starting then all seems well after it is up and running.
Anyone agree or disagree with this ?
