it's hi def as in lots of pixels, but not retina. It's definitely not as good as an iPhone 4 screen BUT it's far far bigger, so better for viewing/playing/whatever

It's the enormous battery life that amazes me. We get up to a week of normal use

It's a good travelling device(only time mine gets used) the battery is fucking ace and it never warms up.

Have you seen the new samsung 7" android tablet soon to be out? That looks quite good..

    I just don't see 7" competing with 10"

    Really?
The iPhone 4 screen is smaller then the iPad but the iPad doesn't even come close.
    Size isn't everything!

7" is going to be more portable it's sorta handbag sized so will suit some people better. The current ipad is satchel/rucksack sized. It's the perfect size for **me** but not everyone's the same.

Even with an ultra high res display, it still doesn't make sense. They're filling a non existent gap between the 10" inch slates (iPad, kindle dx) and large screen smart phones e.g 4.3" HTC Ace.

Get one, you won't be dissapointed. You might as wll get one now. Next years model will have new features, but then so will the next etc. etc. - there really isn't a perfect time to buy one - just hop on and join us...

10" is perfect for this type of device and as for the games, just when I thought I'd seen everything on this, out comes the Citadel Demo - wow.

Soooooo many people (on here included) have been doubtful of the iPad then become believers when buying one. I was the first on here with and iPhone in mid 2007 when the unlock became available (command line not gui) and met huge resistance, in fact I had been a doubter myself, try the iPad for a while, stonking piece of kit.

Can't see any point in a 7" version myself, like netbooks I think a screen size of less than 10" limits it's usefulness as a house/hotel/car device.
Re. the retina display, I too have an iphone 4, but I can't see anything wrong with the ipad display, and wishing it had a retina display never crossed my mind.
    So go for it
