Help! Cheapest way to get the footy?

Me and my new housemates have got a bit of a problem. We want premiership and champs league footy but don't really want to have to pay 20 odd quid for a v/sky box with channels we could get on freeview anyway just to have to pay the 20 quid for sky sports. Is there anyway to just pay to get the sports?!

Ideally we want a 20mb internet package with Sky Sports but not have to pay for any other telly because we download it or get it through freeview. One of my mates isn't really interested in streaming footy because the quality is a bit hit and miss, which is fair enough I guess. Any help appreciated!

I tried watching the last newcastle match on that.. sh1te.. poor resolution, broke up an missed two of the goals.. two out of the three links required the installations of "plugins" (potentially harmful - I'm not talking about flash)

If you don't wanna stream or go to the pub, surely you can afford £10 each (or less) per month to just sub to basic package + sports?
This would include internet as well, though not sure on Sly prices.

If you can avoid the results wait til the next day and download the match from the newsgroups?
I do this with UFC as I can't be arsed waitin up til 6am to watch it on espn, so I watch it at my leisure on a sunday in HD.

UFC is'nt all over the news and papers though so it's pretty easy to avoid the fight results.

sports is like £20 quid on its own and u need the basic pacakge first to get it..This is what you shoud doo..

I use my father in laws account on sky player through the xbox or pc, picture is mint and it only costs me a tenner a month for sky player, its linked to his account so i get all his channels etc. live movies, sports sky 1 etc, plus a shit load of on demand.

Nicking family members Sky Player account is the way forward.

I can't believe you can use someone else's Sky Player account!? Surely they know what's up when the account is in Watford or somewhere and it's constantly used in Newcastle or something!

The point of sky player is you can use it away from home 1 Xbox and 4 pcs can access the account, only 1 at a time though and only 1 of the pcs can watch the movies, well worth it if you.no someone with sky that will help you out, you even pay for it separate so there is no risk to them.
