It's a great feeling to see him growing in there aint it. We had to have a late scan when we found out our little man was breach and the detail you can see is amazing.

Good luck mate and make sure you get plenty of gaming in before he arrives because it will all go out of the window for at least the first few months

It was £100 mate, it lasted about 20 minutes and we got a dvd of the scan, a cd with about 26 pics on it and 6 b&w pics printed out on thermal paper.

They had a siemens poster on the wall, but i didn't see it anywhere on the machine, it had a name something funny beginning with L.

edit: no it wasn't it was Voluson. I knew it had an L in it though. GE according to google. The doc said its the best of the current ones available.

I missed our first scan and we were gonna pay for one of these but the mrs worked in the hospital and they gave her an extra normal one when I came home from sea. Wish we had paid though, that's seriously impressive. Congratulations!

    As no-one has answered me??

4D baby scans are similar to 3D scans except that they show fetal movement as shown in the video clip and are considerably more expensive

The doc is wrong - it's one of the cheapest "top end" ultrasound systems but there are certainly better systems out there - They all say that theirs is the best but we all know GE stands for "Good Enough" - ultrasound images are unbelieveable now compared to just a few years ago when you got a black n white foggy smudge as an image.

Main thing is you got good pics of your healthy baby

It could be a few things, its a real time 3d image and they are able to work out age, weight, length and they can also see bones.

    From some website:

How are our 4D scans different?
All of our 4D scans include a full growth assessment, this includes a check of your baby’s heartbeat, the placenta and the size of your baby. 4D baby scans are used to look at the outer layer and show babies movements in real time.

At your request we can also determine the gender of your baby. If you don’t not want to know this please let your sonographer know at the start of the scan.

We recommend 4D baby scans are performed between 26 – 32 weeks of pregnancy. This is generally the best time to capture detailed animated facial movements because your baby will have put on weight and there is still enough space in the womb for your baby to move around.

You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

We was concidering getting a 4d scan with all of our 3, but decided against it. Imagine seeing something you didn't like or notice hes ugly and you would then be carrying something you didn't like the look of.

Seeing the baby for the first time is the best experience ever and this is cheating that experience.

My thoughts though...... Plus I'm a tight wad not spending £100 for a fooking scan lol
