    Default Leaky tyre/wheel

    Hey!
I have a slow puncture in one of my tyres.
Took it to the tyre place and they said that it was the bead rather than the tyre and the alloy needed refurbing.
Does anyone know where is any good in the North West? (Live in Wigan, work in Liverpool)
Also, would a can of tyre seal help until I got it done? I thought it would but on reflection the centrifugal force would probably make it just fill the tyre rather than near the wheel/tyre seal.
    Cheers.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.

usually the paint on the bead starts to crack n lift. So it starts to leak. You could try givin it a quick rub with some fine sand paper n the tyre place should have a tyre bead seal n that might help. Thats what my dad does for his customers when they have that problem. That usually works if the rim is not really bad.

Yeah it will just be the paint and a bit of oxidising on the alloy. Pop the the tyre then just sand it down like megs says.

Depending on the car, you may be easier and cheaper picking up a second hand alloy wheel.
