Though i'd best tell you lot about my best/worst day of my life last wednesday. It started normally got up then the wife shouts to me she feels funny, I go see her where her eyes rolled and started fitting. I put her in the recovery postion, and phoned for an ambulance, the ambulance were great they turned up with in 5 minutes just as she was coming round. She started screaming didn't know who she was or who i was. I calmed her down and let the ambulance men take over. there was no obvious reasons why it had started, so we rushed to the hospital (15 miles away) on route she had another fit, when she came round the same happened, screaming and a terrible look of panic. she never really came round again aftrer this. At the hospital just as she was in the room, she had another fit, this was a big one and took 8 people to hold her down.
I was in a terrible state of shock by this time.
They managed to run a load of tests and get the fits under control.
It turns out she had full blown ECLAMPSIA not the usual pre-eclampsia the most ladies get and get bed rest. Only a week before she was at the midwife who checked her out and joked that her blood presure was low was she dead.
The only way to cure the problem was to deliver the baby. She is 9 weeks early, so the decision was made to give her the operation, she had an epiduaral and c/section, and baby madalyn was born at 16:24, weighing in at 2lbs 14oz. She slept through the birth and can't remeber anything about the day. (perhaps best for her it was traumatic)
Both are still at the hospital, Madalyn is in an incubator breathing for her self but has just picked up an infection of the stomach (NEC) is quite common in prem babys, but is serious. So she is on nill by mouth for ten days and see how it goes from there.
Mums blood presure is still high so is on blood presure tablets to try and keep it under control but is likely to be in hospital for a week or two more.
So that said i'll not be around much got some traveling to and from hospital for a week or two
So thats thats the worst day and the best day of my life. i'll not forget it for a while.
Ted
