Info How to format an external drive in FAT32 in win7 ready for action

When you get your shiny new external hard drive you will need to format it into FAT32 so that the ps3 will see and load from it ok.
    Firstly in windows 7
    click start
    click all programs
    click accessories
Right click on Command Prompt and select "run as administrator"
    Select YES if asked to
On the command prompt type: format /fs:fat32 X: (replace X with your drive letter)

    it should then say:
"The type of the file system is NTFS."
    "The new filesystem is FAT32."
Enter current volume label for drive X: (type the label you selected for the drive such as "New Volume" etc.

    It will then say:
WARNING ALL DATA ON NON REMOVABLE DISK
    DRIVE X: WILL BE LOST!
Proceed with format (Y/N) (type y to start)
the formatting process will then start.

Note: you have to run the command prompt in administrator mode or it wont let you do any changes.
dont forget to change your drive letter with the proper one you want to format.

    this is my own tut.

    Further notes:

The way the backupmanager works is that it cannot load any FILE larger than 4GB, the game might be 4gb in total but as long as no FILES are larger than 4gb the game should load fine.

I didnt think this worked because of the 32GB Fat32 Limit in Windows - or does Command Line ignore that? Prezzy's way was the way I always did it!

Dunno tbh. I use a tool that I've had for years but I think it was only XP that was picky. Vista and Seven should be ok
