as, title, just wondering if anyone can recommend any good sites with tips for shares to buy and also looking for a good site with all the required news reading in one place. is there such a thing? cheers

FT.com? Seriously, to be ahead of the curve you need to do your own proper research and not rely on 'tip' websites. If those tips are genuine how many people who are mates/in the business are in there before you?

Have a look at funds which can spread the risk slightly but move in their market area - if it interests you the telegraph is doing a fantasy fund manager where you get a fake 100k to invest in real funds and the profit is based on how they do.
