    thanks.
i see overclockers in the list. i phoned them today and they said they had nothing suitable.

most of those cards have dvi and vga outputs. can they both be used to give an expanded desktop and not just replicate it?
sorry if thats a dumb question but im not too familiar with modern tech as its been double figure years since i built a computer.

I've got 2 users at work who've got 2 screeens attached to their 4350's so that should be a safe bet (running expanded not cloned desktops). Not amazing performance but does the job for basic work apps. Also they have the trio of vga, dvi and hdmi ports (haven't tested if they can run all 3 at a time yet).

    thanks again.
are those users using the card alone to drive two screens or in combination with an onboard graphics adapter?
ive been told we cant use the onboard in conjunction with an expansion card as it gets disabled automatically when a PCIe card is installed. i guess i could query that with dell support.

    many thanks for your input.

My old system in work had two monitors running an extended desktop off one DVI output. I think it's a combination of the correct card and the right DVI cable.

Both driven by the 4350's with onboard disabled (well not active as these have i5-750's, I believe only some of the lower i3/i5's have the bits needed to enable/power onboard gfx)

I've had varying luck with dells that claim you have to disable the onboard xxx to install a card. Best example was my old dimension 8300 - manual says it's impossible to enable on board sound if you have the audigy 2 upgrade. I just pulled out the blanking plug over the onboard sockets, enabled in bios and had both working for ages without fault.

Years down the line, I removed the audigy, gave the pc to a mate, then we got another audigy2, this one crashes the pc at high signal levels if the onboard is enabled. Don't ask me to explain
