If you've got enough money, get a router, its so easy to set-up up for internet sharing, hardware firewall, it will keep your connection alive forever aswell.

I've been with Pipex for 6-7 months now and not had any problems. Granted it can take forever to get through to technical support but does that matter if you know a bit about PC's and the line stays up. (£23.44 per month)

Also I just built a PC for a friend and he went for ADSL with www.fairadsl.co.uk/index.htm (£18.99 per month paid quarterly)

The line was sent up within 10 days and they give you the username and password when you place the order. The downside is no telephone support it is all done online.

The desicon you need to make is do I want to pay less for my ADSL but get lower quality technical support or more to BT Freeserve etc and have more technical support bods to help you. Remember BT's whosale price for ADSL is £14.99 per month so you can then see how much profit each company is making and judge who you want to go with.

    Finally why not vist www.adslguide.org.uk
Here you will find details on most ADSL providers and a forum to see what problems people have etc.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

    paul

I am currently with BT Openworld using their frog USB Modem and I want to change the modem for an ADSL router next year. I used to have a document I downloaded off the BT site with all of the settings on.

But I can't find it on my computer and can no longer find it on their site.

Does anyone have a clue what the settings are?

    Thanks.

Just signed up with plusnet all sorted in 8 days and I've had no problems speed test results are very good as well. Plus throw in 250 MB of web space cgi-bin etc all for 22.99 - and no I don't work for them.
