Tom Tom go 500

Got a go 500 if i turn it on i get logo screen then about 10 seconds it turns off, if i take card out it will stay on and also if i connect to computer with card in it stays on i have tried reset button and updated till no more updates available but still no joy any ideas please

Is the battery OK & is it charged ?
What version of Navcore ?
Is it a pre-patched version or have you patched it yourself ?
What map name & version number ?
Have you updated your map ?
Did you copy the mapsettings.cfg file to new map folder ? (if yes try deleting it)
Could try it with a different memory card.
Or try using the v8.204 Navcore I've posted in the Guide thread.

Its actually a real tom tom with original maps not done anything .....yet, navigator 7.903 battery charged but ok not sure how to tell? map gb plus 605.23957 hope that means something to you means fk all to me also when it tries to start i get the yellow bar at bottom fills up then hands stay on before it turns off

Wow - a very old map lol so it's overdue an upgrade .
Have you got another memory card you can use - if not - make a full back up of the one you've got & then delete everything. Make a note of your DeviceID - you can find this on the file named ttgo.bif - open it up with Notepad.

& get the v8.204 navcore (it's a copy of the one I had on my Go500) and the activation tool.
Also get the v850 UK postcode files & the UK & RoI v855.2884. Follow the guide to activate the new map

App 8.204 with uk v830.2307 if i get brave might try europe thanks again Russ

You should be able to use the latest v855.2884 map & the v855 postcode files
