Got Error 80010514

Last night I got the dreaded 80010514 Error, I've had my PS3 for 4 years and after searching around websites and performing all of the theories some people have posted, it's still not working

is my Blu Ray laser nackered?

try going into your system settings and restoring your machine to factory defaults, then format your hard drive. turn off and back on again and see if it then works

I tried that method this morning, and it's still not having it, sometimes the game disc doesn't even get recognised in the XMB, I've emailed Sony about it, but I've heard that if you send it off, they want about 100 quid to repair it!

I've tried all my games in it and still get the same result. DVD's work fine though.

You can get a new laser off ebay for about £30-£40.

Have a look see which laser you have and then just fit it in, it's easy and there are videos all over youtube to follow if you aren't too confident.

if you cant fit it yourself, if you cover postage costs and cost of a new laser ill fit it free for you and test it.

ps its deffo a laser error code, ive just repaired one exactly the same.

Ah, nice one mate, I'm going to get a blu ray drive and have a go myself, will let you know how I get on.
