When going to the gym or training at home do you wear gloves?
If so what make and model?
If no your reason why???

Gym gloves are for fags .
Seriously though I dont see any benefit to them other than stopping the skin on the inside for your hands going hard. Straps on the other hand do serve purpose and I recommend them over gloves.
Do gloves give you grip then???or are they a fag fashion item in the gym?
In the gym I go to it seems to be the pretty boys / Beckham wannabe's that wear them. I may be wrong but personally I don't see any benefit to them at all, especially over straps
They are useful on spin bikes to stop ur hand slipping off ur cock mid wank!

nope. Only pussys wear gloves.. ruin grip.
I will even argue straps ruin grip aswell. But I use them once in a while when going really heavy
These are mine i have - never had a problem - keeps my hands nice and smooth for my batty
Lol "gloves are for pussies"....by that rationale I guess wearing a belt is too?
I have worn gloves for the past 18 years that I have been doing free weights. I have a couple of pairs of gloves, both are Golds Gym (one pair short and one with wrist supports as I have broken both my wrists over the years and they can really help on heavy pressing).
I don't have thick callouses on my palms which is an upside for me. I also don't do any form of manual labour so having a "super grip" isn't essential for me. As you can imagine from 18 years of regular training my grip is pretty strong anyway. I use straps for when I go heavy on dead lift, one armed row and pull-ups.
I guess it's personal preference.
I had yet another back episode a few weeks ago where I was barely walking for the first day and it took just over a week to clear up (had physio and accupuncture plus a cart load of Paramol and Ibucalm which is a great pain killer and anti-inflammatory combo). Weirdest thing was I could not specifically say what it was that did it...I lifted some suitcases into the car on the Tuesday when I picked my folks up from the airport, took a very cold shower Weds. am as there was no hot water (I had turned off the water instead of the heating) and then I carried out the dustbins and recycling bins. Came back in the house, was brushing my teeth and all of a sudden my whole back went into spasm. It was pretty grim.
Anyway, as of January, I have been doing much lighter weights, with my focus basded more around "circuit" style sessions, doing a lot more skipping rope, elliptical etc in order to trim up and get fitter in terms of cardio. So why my back went I do not know.
Massive diggression here but thought it appropriate.
My back has gone a few times. I have no idea why until recentley. Going to the gym and doing core strength work has helped. I think my abs were to powerful for my back therefore pulling my back out of place. Now they are more or less equal.
In answer to the op Valeo Ocelot gloves are very good as they are thin and well made so great for movements that require good grip eg/ deadlift or most rows. Also take a look at Schiekas they do well padded gloves which are better for movements such as dumbell press.
I never used to wear gloves but then I saw a group of teenage lads fooling around. One of them stuck his hand down his ass crack then tried getting his mates to sniff his fingers. Then he was next on the equipment.
Kind of puts things in to perspective for me.
I always wear gloves as i have rings that i cant get of my fingers unless i amputate the fuckers, stops the rings getting damaged by the bar.
Gloves dont sweat or get slippy either.
We Only Need Nine men, we only need nine men.
i don't wear gloves as when i first started i did alot of reading and from what i read the majority of people don't advise wearing them. mainly for the reasons super mike has posted. really glad i didn't now as my grip has come on so much. the hard skin is all part of the experience for me anyway
i use liquid chalk from myprotein, basically chalk in a solvent, once its applied to the hand the solvent evaporates leaving a nice layer of chalk, and doesn't go everywhere like standard chalk.
haven't had to wear straps yet and i'm hoping i won't have to.
