I do a lot of PC and laptop repairs. I've decided finally that cans of compressed air are too expensive for blowing the dust and dirt from heatsinks and fans. I'd like to get an air compressor but haven't a clue what to look for.

I've seen some cheap ones at Argos, but judging by the reviews at 100db they'd be far too noisy for workshop use. I don't mind having one which can charge outside but It needs to be kept and used indoors.

Does anyone use a compressor, or know one they could recommend?

I have stockpiled the cans every time I saw a good deal but will have to invest in a compressor at some point. £5 a can is usually the cheapest I can source and that is too expensive for how long it lasts.

I need a torque drill to speed up disassembly and reassembly if anyone has any recommendations. The ones we used when I was working in a laptop warranty service centre were awesome but I think they cost hundreds.

I have a bosch IXO, lacking the torque but very precise and very comfortable to use regularly, thoroughly reccomended

i use the air blower of the kids bouncy castle! , hitting any m/b with a hurrican katrina gets them new in seconds

I used this place before for cleaning the machines at work, cheaper than the others, delivery can bump it up but worth it if you are getting a good few.

Have gone through plenty of cans over the years dont like the way if you spray for too long can gets freezing cold and you tilt the can slightly all the "juice" comes out all over someones precious motherboard

bought one of these, quite expensive initial outlay (£58) but then afer that no more cans...good bit of kit, if a bit noisy
