Dont need music mate! try this:

One simple and effective method to wind down is to repeatedly tense and relax your muscles, shortly before going to bed. Starting with the feet, tense all the muscles in one foot for a few seconds, and then release. Repeat this tensing, holding and relaxing for the rest of the body. The whole exercise should last for about 15 minutes, and should leave you feeling a lot more relaxed, and ready to sleep. (Takes me a minute!)

.... Or just lie down right on the very edge of your bed - you will soon drop off!

I have tried this and doesn't work for me

I usually just have a fat spliff - leaves me feeling nice and relaxed. I have had insomnia since I been around 13 so 18 + years and tried pretty much everything going.

For years I used the first CD of the original Ministry of Sound Chillout Session to help me sleep.

    Worked a treat.

    Give this a go. http://www.i-doser.com/

Or if you actually want music (kinda) then download some "Boards Of Canada" albums.

Watch some Man city videos, if that doesn't help you sleep then nothing will

Seriously though, isn't there a Paul Mckenna CD that supposedly hypnotises you to sleep?

The Richard Butler album called "Richard Butler" is not bad to fall asleep to. Had it playing many a time and not heard the last few tracks.

depending on how u wanna sleep/dream , checkout some of the early stuff from "The Orb" , like The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld or U.F.Orb , '91/'92 respectively

Quite honestly I wouldn't try music at all. What is your favourite series or film that you have watched so many times you can repeat every word. Personally (i'm a bit fucked up) its Southpark or Family Guy - I've watched every episode so many times, I know whats coming up. Shove three episodes on and bingo - I'm out of it after 10 minutes.

Essentially the idea is that your brain doesn't need to process what its seeing/listening to and therefore you switch off, fully relax and fall asleep naturally. It can work with anything, music too - but personally mine includes watching something. Its a bit tricky when my missus is round though....
