Samsung NC-10
Hi guys need a little help again, my mate has given me her daughters NC-10 to look at it starts to boot up and then goes balck screen and you can hear the HDD head resetting with a ping it does both about once a second and just hangs, was thinking bios at first vefore i got it but now thinking maybe the HDD is fcuked...? any help many thanks Rob
BTW..seems to get to various booting stages before going on the blink even upto password login..!!

Sounds like the HDD actuators are going/gone mate. Does point to hard drive, that'd be the first thing I would look at.

how far into the boot do you get, do you even get the windows start up animation? does the bios still detect it?
I would go into the bios find out what hard drive is in the pc and then make a bootable disk with whatever manu diagnostics software to see if you can scan it.
