Lost wifi after upgrade

picked up my desire about 40 mins ago and saw it wanted to update via 3g or wifi to 2.10 so I thought great! set it off, downloaded in a jiffy then asked me to make some room for it. It restarted twice and went thru the new keyboard blurb. It looks very similar to the 2.09 BUT I noticed wifi wasnt working so i tried to turn it on, nothing? it says "error" in wireless& networks button to turn it on. Not rooted still locked on orange

searched on androidforums.com and found a radio patch

applying the update with a goldcard prevents this issue, mainly unbranded phone, though if you have an orange branded phone proceed with caution.
