Problems formating HDD to FAT32

install this

converted a 500Gb NTFS to FAT32 in around 10 seconds

anyone know is there anyway to do this without losing data on said NTFS drive?

Not that I am aware.

I believe you can convert fat32 to NTFS and retain the data but not the other way.

i take it ps3 does not work well with all drives as i have formatted to fat32 and ps3 still does not see it ?

Can you not just disable some caching mode or something to get the option in windows format dialogue?

Are you talking backup wise?

If so make sure you have the path set as USB://GAMEZ/TITLE/

I've used a selection of drives over the last couple of weeks, usb powered, ext, enclosures and not had a problem yet! (touchwood)

if its over 32GB windows wont fomat it in fat32 , but the link prezzy posted works fine , altho i aint tried it on 1TB+ drives

No just it showing up on the ps3 before we get to anything we cant talk about here :-)
