recovery or restore mode?

having a crappy week i think!!

ok i jailbroke my daughters ipod touch on 3.1.2 using blackrain, it was fine for a couple of days then tonight she phones me and says it went off and then came back on with a usb lead and the itunes logo, if she plugs it into the pc it itunes says its in recovery mode and will have to be restored.

i have told her to do the press and hold on/off and home for 10 seconds and also the press and hold both then just the home button that i found here http://www.ilikemyiphone.com/2009/07...-and-dfu-mode/ . but the apple logo will come on and then it goes immediately back to the usb lead/itunes logo. im not even sure if its in dfu or recovery mode!

i knwo she can probably restore but itunes is saying it will restore and update so then i wont be able to jailbreak will i?

you sure it aint the new bootrom.
Just connect to a pc and run blackrain again.
You just have a tethered jailbreak there.

It would have better to have run spirit jailbreak.

well after hours of messing it wouldnt work i ended up having to do an official restore which meant it also went to 4.1 and now it cant be bloody Jil broken!! one unhappy daughter!! :-/
