    Default Domain Registrant gone bust

Below is an email that I received yesterday from the registrant. What I would like to know is how easy is it for me to transfer 5 domain name to another company, and who's the best.

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that Domainia Limited
is no longer able to provide any services since it is ceasing to trade.
We stress that your domain names are safe. A notice will also appear on
    our web site at www.domainia.co.uk.

Domania has managed to source a provider of enhanced services
(Division X Limited) and has negotiated a FREE 2 week trial period. For
the sake of expediency your email and URL forwarding and web site hosting
services have been transferred to Division X who will be providing you
with these services for the trial period, but otherwise under their Terms
of Business. Full details of their Terms of Business as well as details
of what is on offer through Division X are available at
www.divisionx.com/domainia/index.html. Please visit this page since it
contains important information and hopefully answers to any questions
    you may have.

Within the free trial period you can decide whether you wish to enter
into agreement with Division X Limited. We stress that you are under no
obligation whatsoever to do so. If after the free trial period you have
not signed up with Division X, your services will be discontinued.

For clarity we confirm that in no circumstances are Division X responsible
for any actions or omissions on the part of Domainia Limited in relation
to providing any services to you.

    Your Customer ID is: ******
Please ensure you quote your Customer ID in all future correspondence.

    Best wishes

    Taha Alireza
    Managing Director
    Domainia Limited

123-reg are pretty good and cheap, I suggest though you get your domain registered at one place and getting hosting from another because if the host goes out of business you can just log into your domains control panel and change your domains dns to point to a new host as hosting providers go out of business all the time.

depending on what TLD your domains are you have 2 choices.

UK domains: you can get the tag changed to another ISP which will then give them control over the name servers and any other details. Technically you could leave the tag with the company which have taken over and change the DNS to someone else because their page says they have merged tags with your old company so therefore they are now your ISP so they are obliged to follow your instructions RE: the domain.
Personally, however, I would move the tag to your new company instead of operating via this company which have taken over.

(just a quickie if I've confused you about tags, any company who are authorised to register .UK domains are given a tag which basically makes them the ISP associated with your domain (renewal payment etc) so by changing the tag on your domain you are shifting the associated ISP. You can have the tag with one company and DNS with another though)

COM/NET/ORG : translation of their page at the moment reads you are stuck until they have finished negotiating with opensrs/tucows which are one of the main domain bodies to allow them to take over the old ISP's domains.

So as a quick fix you can get all the DNS pointing to another company or in the long run you would be better to get all the tags (U.K.) or agent (U.S.) moved to one central company (probably the one you host the site with but isn't necessary)

So there's the actual ISP associated with billing (tag or agent) and then another which hosts your site (DNS host). How you arrange them is your choice.

There are loads of companies who will open their arms to you. I can probably do you a good deal with you being a DF member but I don't want to be yelled at for advertising so go look round there are more companies than you have fingers... and toes
