PS3 Game Ripper

Some clever Spanish chap has posted up on PSX Scene a very useful program for trimming down the size of your PS3 backups. Apparently one chap got GOW3 from 45 gig down to about 22 gig using this program. It basically gets rid of all the files not needed like updates/languages/dummy files etc.

On page 2 of the thread there is a version 2.0 that has been released. The only downside is that the program is in Spanish but it looks pretty straightforward to use

this will come in real handy sometime when the hdds start to really fill up,ive yet to get the jb going on the ps3.gona wait a few months till theres maybe a firmware work around...

No, they just patched over exploits with each software version. But they have filed patents to detect modified devices which is a concern they might put a stop to jailbreaks/unauthorised unlocks.

Right and Sony can't do this as people won't get back on the net, they should have let users online, built detection and ban hammer'd everyone - that would have worked better?
