    Help Windows 7 Password Protection

    So Frustrating.

I have a windows 7 PC connected via ethernet to a Sumvision MKV player.

All I want to do is share the files to play them on that.

My 360 can happily stream the videos to it using the same system, however when I try to do it on this is doesn't seem to like it.

The UPNP option finds the device and then just gives the default public folders which I haven't got any videos in. So this sits there taking ages to load and then eventually finds the video files but its in a MASSIVE long list that is impossible to navigate and in fact crashed the system.

The network option finds my PC under Workgroup but then asks for a username and password.

I have specifically turned password protected sharing off everywhere I can find.
The network is listed and an unidentified public network and I have even tried disabling the guest account.

Despite all of this I still can't get past this login screen which by all rights shouldn't exist as I don't have a username and haven't ever setup any passwords.

    Any thoughts?

I can't believe noone else has had this problem.

I guess I'll just turn password protected sharing on and setup a username and password for my account.

Media steaming works since I can access it from my xbox. All the options I have there are set to allowed.

I think I am trying to get the file sharing aspect working though since the media sharing works but it very slow and then crashes because I have too many videos shared.

On the xbox you get to browse by folder whereas this seems to just list all of the videos like in media player.

If i try to access my pc from my xbox i have to have a limited number of files in that folder or the xbox cant see them.

And the only way i can refresh the files is by adding them to c:\users\public\videos

Include your video dl folder into your video library. Right click on your folder/include in library/ video.

    Should sort it.
