3DS Official date and more announced at Nintendo's Press Conference in Japan!

The Nintendo 3DS will launch March 2011 in the United States and Europe, Feb 26, 2011 in Japan, 2011.
It will have a suggested retail price of 25,000 Yen in Japan, which converts to about $300 U.S.

-3DS will be launched in "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmic Black"

-The 3DS will also utilize Miis and will be able to communicate wirelessly with othe 3DS systems, even while in sleep mode.

-The 3DS also stores "tag-mode" data from all sorts of games, so you don't have to actually be playing a specific game to get tag-mode data for that game.

-Use the 3ds camera to take a picture of your face for Mii creation, and then use a template to help easier create a Mii that looks like yourself.
Mii characters can then be converted into a QR Code that you can print out or post on a website so you can share your Mii in a different way: friends use their 3DS cameras to take a picture of the code and instantly retrieve your Mii. There is also a Tag Mode Mii Plaza so you can see all the Mii characters you've collected wirelessly.

-3DS unit will come w 2GB SD card packed in.



-Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Classic games in 3D to be sold on VC service!

I can see where you are coming from as there are some N64 ports. I haven't seen the PSP achieve graphics as shown by Metal Gear and Res Evil on that gametrailers clip and then you have the 3D, the 2 Cameras, the motion sensor etc. I think it looks fantastic but I won't shell out anything above £200 for a handheld unless it makes phone calls as well !

erm, its in 3D, without the use of glasses, in a handheld. It doesnt come much newer than that really, what do you want?

i saw an earlier demo of the 3d and was not impressed, i dunno what it is as i usually love nintendo stuff. had all the consoles since nes but this just has not got me interested. might be different when i see it in hand tho i dont know

Saw this earlier and am very impressed with the interaction between 2 devices even when off. Can't wait!

guess its hard to understand but let me explain m8, i saw an online demo - well in fact 2 which did not show off the 3d capabilities very well. and from the online DEMO's i saw it looked similar to the old super ario 64.

and if you read into my wording above youll notice i said if i had it in hand to see it in action properly then i might change my mind.

i thought i would trawl the net tonight to see if there was any better demo's than what ive seen so far and i came across this:

Mate that's the DSI not the 3DS. Can remember seeing that game though and it's not 3d, it just uses trickery to look like it is. Your not going to be able to see the 3d effect from a video. The only way to see the 3d is in person holding the thing, people that have used it have noted how impressive it is.
