hi

i've got an asrock 330 (similar to the revo) running xbmc in the lounge, i was watching a bluray rip in mkv last night, when the screen started to flicker, the bsod came up for a sec then it powered off.

so i tried booting it back up, the fans spin etc and the drive clicks as if its going to but then it doesn't display anything onscreen.

so i opened it up checked the fans werent jammed etc, and to cut a long story short after a bit of swapping about it appears that it won't boot with one particaulr stick of ram insatlled (in either slot), with it removed it boots up. with the other stick in either slot it boots fine.

so does this mean the ram is tits? or could i have another prob somewhere thats causing it?

also if it is tits, where do i stand on just changing the one stick when they're a pair?

and finally would i see any benefit in takin the other stick out and replacing them both (it has 2x 1gb as standard) with 2x 2gb sticks (i'm running win7 64) considering its only used as a htpc?

cheers for your time
