Nice work to whoever's managed it.

--Just wondering how much it'll cost for a chipped box (if it is a chip) or how much for an upgrade?
--Any idea on life expectancy on the chip?
--Will it work through the broadband cable connection?
--Will it work for all of the cable companies?

    Sorry for all the questions.

    Cheers

Put splitter on original so second box won't talk back to base.
Everything is available through the cable box....PPV, the lot.

There was a lot of investment went into this.

Hope I haven't said anything wrong

    It's not a chiped box.
    life expectancy, who knows?

The least said on the workings of these box's, the better.
P.M's are the safest way to communicate?

If I was to mention how things are done, or to give clues how to do it, then it will go like ON-D*git*l went. Which was shut down after a few years, yes or no?

So lets keep things cool shall we, in what we say and don't say on this subject.

    Thanx

    Default Good news

Sound like good news for some people.. Could the cable know that you had it on you box as with I*V Digi*al you have to keep you tele out of the box so thay did not know that you was watching channels that you was not aloud to.

I dunno about you lot, but i don't actually plug my telephone into the digi box. Therefore i don't think that would be an issue. If anyone wants to "show me" or "sell" how to do it, send me a PM or an E-Mail.

    Cheers

I don't think so, it's not like a chip in a PS. From what i can understand it's like this... if im wrong someone please correct me.

You get a "Filter" which is pretty much like a cube from analogue cable. You split the signal going to your subscribed digi-box, to an unsubscribed one (how you get an unscbscribed box is another matter, or mabey you just bite the bullet and pay £15pm for another one...) so you have 2 boxes on 1 input. You put the cube or fliter on the line of the 2nd box and bingo, it gets all the channels.

I believe it's done like this so the cable co can still communicate with a box and therefore cannot detect the filter.

Again, this is just what i can assertain from this bbs and the word on the street. If it's incorrect or incomplete please fill in the gaps.

    Cheers
    Opal

this is from another forum :

my mate paid 100 quid to get his digi box done. i opened it for a look and the ******* had wired a GI 2100 board inside the digi box even wired it to the display the crafty git. I knew something was amis when i saw he had been given an all for 1 remote for it and the channel display was same as analogue.
so make sure you have your head on b4 shelling out your wonga
    :$:

the splitting business sounds like ideal scammage for sum1 to maybe box some old analog boards into a new digi box case and then show you sky sports 1 etc on it - wud fool ur everyday joe public nps.

    theres no filter
    theres no cube
theres no board fitted to it

this is not a blag, its a full working mode digi-box.
nothing added to this box and nothing taken from the board

i'd be suprised if it worked in Ireland?

the unsubscribed box does not talk back to base;-)
