    6210 Unlocking problem

I'm trying to unlock a 6210 but can't get a connection to the phone.

I'm using a lead set that has multiple connectors for various Nokia and Siemens phones. I have unlocked numerous 3210s with this set. The difference is, the 3210 lead has a switch on it for MBUS/FBUS use and the one for the 6210 doesn't.

Do I need a different lead or am I doing something wrong? I'm using Rolis NokTool 1.7b.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

Use Rolis NokTool v1.8 - Make sure it is that version.
v1.7 doesn't allow you to use dual bus cables, just pure mbus.

If that doesn't sort you out, use this (www.rudeyute.co.uk/lmlinktest.htm) to find a connection with the cable.

    Regards

Tried 1.8 - same response 'Failed to initialise local mode'

And the link you posted is dead.

    Anything else I can try?

http://www.rudeyute.co.uk/lmlink.htm is the correct link, sorry.

If you fail to find the phone using that, try cleaning the contacts, and keep trying.

Sorry, an error I can't fix for some reason. (Yes, I know what the problem is, but it just won't fix, lol)

Copy and paste this to your browser whilst on that Page www27.brinkster.com/rudeyute1/lmlinktest.zip

OK. I.m getting passes on FBUS and DLR-3 but failure on MBUS - thought I might as there is no switch for MBUS.

I've not seen any 6210 leads with this switch on (come to that, only the 3210 lead has got one) so how do I sort this out?

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I'm guessing you're using a pure fbus cable (the one that came with phone)
You neeed to buy a new one, which will atleast have auto switching mbus/fbus or pure mbus.

As i said in my previous post, the lead is from a pack that was described as an unlocking kit and it says on the box that it is a dual F-BUS and M-BUS interface. Can't be sure where the problem lies without trying a different lead.

    Bugger!!

All sorted now. Converted FBUS cable to MBUS and it worked a treat .

    Cheers for the help fella.
