southport firework championships

Went to the firework champiomships last night, which consisted of 3 rounds, on the 1st round tried to get some settings sorted and where they were going to be in the sky, my plan for the second round was to fine tunethen get some shots in the 3rd round.
Not to be 30 secs into the second round it started raining and didnt stop, so this pic is a montage of 5 pics from the 1st round, great british weather..

I didn't bother to go this year. The final is on tonight and I'm not going to bother either. It rained in 2008 and 2009 and of course it's raining this year... still, they will insist on doing these things in Autumn when the likelyhood of rain is almost 100%.

Also, if you want to shoot wide angle, you have to get there almost in the afternoon and set up camp otherwise you end up with heads and railings in your shots .

It's still a very cool event though.

shame about the weather
the montage looks pretty cool it's just a shame the weather didn't hold off long enough for the 2nd and 3rd rounds by the end of the second round i was drenched so decided to pack up n go
looking at the weather forcast it looks like there might be a break in the rain so i'l be going again tonight and have another go
